Our Story
The Cove on Castro has been warming hearts and stomachs since 1971, and as you can imagine, we’ve seen a lot of changes over the years. We’ve watched our historic neighborhood grow, flourish, struggle, heal, and then open its streets to excited tourists from all over the country and even the world. Through all of it, we’ve been a warm, comforting constant, welcoming guests in with open arms, treating them like beloved relatives, and serving up simple, delicious homemade meals in a relaxed, feels-like-home space. Around here, we don’t just support the gay community -- we’re at the very heart of it, and nothing could make us prouder. But we mean it when we say anyone and everyone has a seat at our tables. Whether you’re a twice-a-day regular or visiting for the very first time, we’re happy to have you as a part of the family!
