Starting the year of the rabbit with another breaking-in and vandalism only a month apart (three weeks after a new glass door was just replaced). Our computer, POS tablet and speaker were taken—there will be no music in the restaurant until we get the new system working. 😑 ?

Chef’s Special today, Pad Kanom Pakkard (ผัดขนมผักกาด), stir-fried organic daikon radish cakes with eggs, bean sprouts and chives in sweet soy sauce. It is a classic Thai dish that is almost like a hidden gem, a little known to visitors and ordered only by locals. We make the cakes in-house using organic radish. A simple dish with delightful combination of flavors and texture. Also, it’s healthy and gluten-free!

Here comes our dessert for the summer, Mango Sticky Rice or “Khao Nieo Mamoung”. (ข้าวเหนียวมะม่วง), served in a banana leaf cup. The sweet sticky rice and juicy mango is smothered in a rich and creamy coconut sauce—creating a perfect blend of sweet, salty and chewy. The glutinous rice is soaked and steamed in a Thai bamboo steamer basket, a traditional method of cooking perfect sticky rice in Thailand. It’s one of our favorite classic dessert and we hope you love them too! 🥭🥥🇹🇭

Due to a steep rise on COVID-19 cases, we decide to close our indoor dining service until further notice for safety of our staff and all customers. We are still operating our outdoor dining (with limited seatings) and take-out. Stay safe and healthy!

After a year, we are now open our indoor dining with limited capacity and safety protocols. While things are not quite the same as before the pandemic, we are working hard to get our grooves back. Also, our new dinner hours are now from 5 to 9 pm. Looking forward to serving you and can’t wait to see you back! (Sorry, walk-in only. We currently cannot take reservations.) Sadly, our outdoor dining parklet was forced to remove yesterday. It's a financial hit to our small business during the pandemic. While we appreciated the City’s Shared Space Program to help restaurants keep staff and serve food, it's been challenging. Since we did not have exclusive right to use the public parklet in front of us, the outdoor dining parklet was the only option we were given, then it was taken away because of few individuals. Like everyone else in the service industry, we're trying our best to stay in business and keep our ten-person staff employed. Limited seatings and having an open kitchen will not allow indoor dining anytime soon. So losing the parklet was a real disappointment and heartbreaking for us.

We feel so touched and tremendously grateful to everyone who has supported us these past months. And warm big hugs to JoEllen at Pinhole Coffee for kindly helping start a Nute’s Noodles GoFundMe fundraiser which began on Sunday. Even a small donation could help reach the fundraising goal. Today is our first day back in the kitchen in 2021. Looking over the past year, it’s hard to believe our little restaurant made it this far, staying afloat with staff amid the many hardships of 2020. This would not be possible without all of your trust, love, and support.

Since the Shelter-In-Place order began last March, we've managed to keep preparing warm meals to support and cheer on the local Bernal community and to retain our dedicated staff. Running a small family kitchen has been tough and often times discouraging, but your kind words and care push us to keep going.

On behalf of all of us at NUTE’S, we would like to express our deepest gratitude to you who have been supporting and helping us through this difficult time. We hope this new year brings love, peace, and courage to all.
