May is Older Americans Month. Established in 1963, Older Americans Month is dedicated to acknowledging the contribution and achievements of older Americans, while sharing the importance of finding fulfillment in the aging process. Recently, our Active Older Adults (AOA) participated in the 53rd annual Pow Wow at Stanford University. This year's theme was “Empowering Indigenous Women." Our AOA members got to see and enjoy dances, drumming, and singing as well as arts and crafts.
This is National Water Safety Month, and while we know all ages love our facility pools and aquatics programs, we are especially proud of our programs that illuminate our vision of equity and access to safety in swimming for our youth. Bayview Safety Swim and Splash not only does this but has brought us together with incredible partners, and support from companies like Amazon. Thank you, Amazon for seeing how community-driven programs not only change lives, and our neighborhoods, but our future as well.
