Think of me as your health coach. Coach Joelle Wellness Within Reach. With 20 years of experience in the health profession and 18 in acupuncture, I have built a broad-based acupuncture practice in the Noe Valley/Castro district: Back to Health with Acupuncture in San Francisco. To bring you back to vibrant health, I use a holistic rather than a symptomatic approach designed to help your body heal
After experiencing long COVID a few years ago, I started taking AG1 to help boost my immunity and hopefully get my energy back. It helped, but I didn’t love it. That’s why I was so excited when Standard Process launched Power Mix.
Give it a try and let me know what you think.https://shorturl.at/Efbpr
stay well,Joelle
SP® Power Mix provides a wide variety of “superfoods”: whole food-derived ingredients that include compounds which have been reported to have human health benefits. In total, it contains 22 superfoods — as many as 12 of which are grown on the Standard Process certified organic farm. They include alfalfa, kalette, kale, Swiss chard, brussels sprouts, pea vine, kidney bean, buckwheat, oats, beet, turnip greens, and barley grass.
In addition, SP® Power Mix is an excellent source of zinc, manganese, and vitamin C — vitamins and minerals that support the immune system.* Vitamin C also provides antioxidant activities and is involved in the synthesis of collagen, which is important for healthy skin.
A Guide to Your Body’s Biological Response to Stress — the impact of stress on your body is no joke.

I love this product! I have three grandkids and they all started taking it once they were able to chew. It's important that they build a strong immune system as the grow and are exposed to new environments. Have questions? DM me, I'm happy to help.
Standard Process is the only organic, whole food supplement company I trust for my family.
The best whole food vitamins for kids and picky eaters - this is what I give my Grandbabies.
Standard Process is the gold standard for food based vitamins and supplements. I have been giving these three products to my grand babies since they could chew. These products help keep their immune systems strong and keeps them healthy all year round.
Picky Eaters especially should take whole food supplements to make sure they are getting the vitamins and nutirents they need to keep up their immue system and thrive.

Tabata Workouts when you’re short on time
This time of year it is really hard to fit everything in, and too often our exercise routine is the first thing to fall off our to-do list. Here is a quick 4-minute Tabata workout. I did this right before I hopped on a plane to France to get my metabolism going since I knew I would be sitting for a long time.
https://youtu.be/dWi1RlajVqw
What is a Tabata? It is a four-minute workout - 20 seconds on, 10 seconds rest for 8 rounds
Tabata workouts are a really easy way to take care of yourself when you are short on time. You can do a Tabata of anything - jump rope, situps, squats - just get your body moving.
Dr. Heather Scheuring is a licensed acupuncturist, herbalist and certified yoga instructor. She received both a Masters of Traditional Chinese Medicine and a Doctorate of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine with a focus on integrative health and research from ACTCM right here in the heart of San Francisco. During her clinical training she worked with a variety of health complaints but was especially drawn to prenatal and postpartum care, dermatological issues, and mental and emotional wellness. In her private practice, she has found acupuncture to be both effective and rewarding for these issues and has also found a growing appreciation for managing pain using Chinese medicine modalities such as acupuncture and cupping.

Many people find acupuncture when traditional medicine doesn't work...
How does Acupuncture Work?
Acupuncture is based on ancient Chinese theories of the flow of Qi (pronounced chee, energy) and Xue (pronounced sh-way, blood) through distinct meridians or pathways that cover the body, similar to the pathways of your nerves and blood vessels.
Acupuncture allows Qi to flow toward areas where it is deficient and away from areas where it is in excess, thus restoring balance, which promotes general health and resistance to disease.
What are some of the Conditions Commonly treated with Acupuncture?
Acupuncture is often effective in treating:
Digestive and Gastrointestinal Disorders - such as constipation, diarrhea, gastritis, hyperacidity, irritable bowel syndrome, nausea, and
eating and weight disorders (such as anorexia, obesity)
Pain, swelling, and inflammation from acute injuries - such as spasms, strains, sprains, and contusions) and chronic conditions (such as arthritis, bursitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, plantar fasciitis, tendinitis)
Neurological and Muscular Disorders - such as diabetic neuropathy, fibromyalgia, frozen shoulder, headaches, migraines, neck pain, neuritis, osteoarthritis, sciatica, and tennis elbow
Respiratory Disorders - including allergies, asthma, bronchitis, and sinusitis
Skin Disorders - including acne, eczema, and psoriasis
Stress Disorders - including anxiety, depression, fatigue, high blood pressure, and insomnia

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, every organ is attached to an emotion. Your thoughts and feelings play a role in your health.
Shyness/Throat - unexpressed emotions, this in TCM is called 'mei he qi', translated to 'plum pit qi'. The feeling that something is stuck in your throat. Ever held back your tears or voice and your throat feels like you swallowed a plum pit? Well, that's mei he qi - restricted qi/ energy.
Sadness/Lungs - the lungs relate to grief and sadness. Have you ever cried so hard you're gasping for air? Your lungs are being affected by your emotions, that's why it's so important to express them. Gentle movements like taichi, qigong, or yoga can be so good for letting go of grief.
Euphoria/Heart - the heart is the place for happiness and joy. It also houses our 'shenn' which is our spirit. When the spirit is strong and bright you shine!
Jealous/Anger - these are more related to the liver, alongside resentment and depression. They affect your health in so many ways: pain, your menstrual cycle, PMS, digestive system, headaches, migraines.
Anxiety/Spleen/Pancreas - butterflies in your stomach, worry, that unsettled feeling lurking around... that's anxiety and it impedes your spleen/pancreas which affects your digestive system.
Fear/Kidney - above your kidney lies your adrenal glands, responsible for stress hormones like adrenaline. Excess stress, fear, and fright can lead to dysfunction of the kidney and shows up as low back pain, weakness in the lower limbs, fertility concerns, and loss of hair.
Melancholy/ Large Intestine - same same but different than the lungs because they are yin/yang pair. If your grief and sadness affect your large intestine and you "can't let go" of your emotions... guess what? Constipation

Chinese Medicine believes that there is greater benefit in a seasonal approach to health and treatments may vary based on the time of year. The body is affected by, and a reflection of, the environment around us.
It's recommended that we eat cooling, yin foods to disperse heat and build up body fluids. In general, choose lighter foods to avoid indigestion. These include:
Fruits like apple, lemon, kiwi, watermelon, orange, pear, pineapple, and tangerine
Cooling foods like cucumber, Belgian endive hearts, spinach, tomato, salads, yogurt, wheat, barley, fish, rabbit, mint, dill, and cilantro
Drink lots of water, watermelon juice, and green tea (It can help disperses summer heat, expel toxins, cool the heart fire, and calm the mind.)

I don't treat ailments, I address the energetic imbalances so that the body proceeds to heal itself. Each ailment is treated differently depending on medical history, constitution, overall health, energy level, and the season.

The heart is associated with happiness and love and that state of peacefulness that we associate with summer. The Heart is linked with Joy - too much and we are agitated and restless, too little and we become sad and depressed. Stress, anxiety, or lack of self-expression can impact the heart.
Rising emotions are like wind traveling through our consciousness causing ripples on the water. As thoughts, feelings, and patterns disrupt the still waters the reflection becomes distorted.
The brief moment of disruption of still waters is normal, but in order for us to have clarity, the winds must settle and it's only then that we can really know where we stand, what we look like, and what we need.
Acupuncture allows Qi to flow toward areas where it is deficient and away from areas where it is in excess, thus restoring balance, which promotes general health and resistance to disease. Let acupuncture help you find joy and energy this summer. www.SF-acupuncture.com
