Since I was a young girl, I was so eager to learn that I’d spend my pocket money on books instead of meals. I always told myself, “I am going to make it!” ✊🏾📚
After years of challenges, and fighting to continue my education, I founded Healthy Choice Agro Consult in 2019 with support from CAMFED and Foundation. We produce oyster mushrooms using waste sawdust from wood mills, contributing to a more sustainable agricultural practice.
I strongly believe that the hope of tomorrow is in our hands today, and I can take decisions and actions that can go a long way to write that future.
From producing 500 bags of mushrooms every three months, we now make 3,000 bags quarterly. I’m proud to support my community by providing jobs and training, especially for women.
My goal is to train more young women in mushroom production and agriculture. I believe that with perseverance, anyone can overcome challenges and achieve their dreams.—Martha, Ghana 🇬🇭 Read more: https://camfed.org/martha/
I turned a small investment into a successful farming venture—here’s how! ⬇️💵
Starting with 50,000 shillings (around $19), I rented a one-acre plot and bought farming supplies. With the support of CAMFED, I attended training sessions where I learned about good agricultural practices, business management, marketing, and entrepreneurial skills. 🌿📈
Today, I’m a successful agripreneur (agriculture entrepreneur) , generating 300,000 shillings (about $115) each year by producing sunflower, maize, and peanuts.🌻🌽🥜 I use my profits to improve my life, support my family, and educate my younger brother.—Rukia, Tanzania 🇹🇿 Let's support Rukia in the comments! ➡️🙌🏾
🌟 Hi sisters, my name is Nasilele. Growing up, life was challenging, and my family struggled to provide for us. But I was determined to succeed in school!!
After receiving support, I was able to complete my secondary education and join the CAMFED Association. Six months later, I had been trained as a Transition Guid, inspired to contribute to my community.
Today, I run a business selling dried fish and have been selected as a Learner Guide, earning a BTEC qualification. I mentor other rural girls, encouraging them to stay focused and positive. I also helped a school girl with purchasing shoes.
My dream for our sisterhood is to see every member succeed and live independently. The CAMFED Association has provided me with skills, ideas, and knowledge that have shaped my life. 🌱💪🏾 Like and share to support my journey! ❤️
I’m the boss! My journey into big business started small, but today, I’m a proud landowner with multiple enterprises. 🌱💪🏿
Owning my farm means I can plant whatever I want, and with climate-smart techniques, we’re seeing better yields even with changing weather patterns.
Employing others, especially my CAMFED Association sisters, has been one of the most rewarding parts—I’m helping them build their futures while building mine. Women can do business, and we can do it better!
Focus, work hard, and remember: it’s not about what you start with, but how you grow it.—Janet, Zambia 🇿🇲🌾 https://camfed.org/janet/
🌟 My advice to aspiring entrepreneurs is to never stop learning and remember that challenges are all part of the game!
I’m Elizabeth, an entrepreneur and primary school teacher from Malawi. From overcoming school fee challenges to building a successful peanut processing business, I’ve learned that dedication and education can truly transform lives.
📚 My days are a juggling act—between teaching, running my business, and studying for my Bachelors of Education. I’m proud to support marginalized children and inspire other young women through my ‘Women Business Clinic,’ where I offer free mentorship and business sessions.
🌱My peanut butter and coated peanuts are a hit, thanks to my hard work and a new automated processing machine.
Challenges are there to test our abilities and knock our confidence, but effort and positivity will overcome anything!—Elizabeth, Malawi 🇲🇼

I am a testimony to what education can do, once you give someone an opportunity.. Growing up in rural Zambia, my life was filled with struggles, but education was my beacon of hope. 🔦 When I received the support I needed to attend boarding school, it changed everything for me.
👤 Today, as a Program Officer with CAMFED, I help young women gain skills and independence, just as I was supported. My journey is proof of the power of education to transform lives.🌟—Abigail, Zambia 🇿🇲 https://camfed.org/abigail-kaindu/

Hi, I’m Rose👋🏿, a dedicated CAMFED Association leader from Malawi! 🌍✨
Growing up in rural Malawi, I faced immense challenges—walking 7km to school, struggling with poverty, and confronting the threat of child marriage.
But with my grandparents' and CAMFED’s support, together with my own determination, I completed my education and became a leader in my community. 🎓
Today, I work tirelessly to end child marriage and support girls in staying in school. I’ve been able to end 43 child marriages and advocate for the right to education for many girls. 📚

I know how it feels to be vulnerable to changing weather patterns. Growing up, the weather used to dictate how we were going to eat and survive. Now, through climate-smart agriculture, I see a future of possibilities!🌾✊🏿
Education has transformed my life, and together with my sisters, we’re teaching our communities how to thrive. Being part of the CAMFED Association is fulfilling—life keeps getting better because we support each other. 📚 🫱🏾🫲🏿
I am a role model in my community because other girls have seen me flourish from challenging conditions, so they are encouraged to work hard so that they can become economically independent and be able to join the fight against poverty in our community.—Harriet, Zambia 🇿🇲 Read more: https://camfed.org/harriet/
When I was 11, I developed a hearing impairment that deeply affected me. I even stopped attending school. But with my mother’s support, I was able to go to a special school, where CAMFED provided me with essential support. My teachers there inspired me, and I regained my confidence. 🧏🏾♀️🦻🏾
After graduating secondary school, I joined the CAMFED Association. I later earned my diploma in Computer Studies from the Zambia Institute of Special Education. Today, I’m a teacher at a secondary school, proud to be among 451 newly recruited teachers living with disabilities. I’m living proof that ANYTHING is possible!—Namakau, Zambia🇿🇲✊🏾💫

My journey in technology began in primary school, driven by a desire to understand how things work. But financial hardships nearly ended my dreams—until CAMFED stepped in to support my secondary school education.
Now, I’m hoping to pursue a Master’s in Cyber Security and continuing to break barriers for women in tech. As CAMFED Association sisters, we uplift our communities, proving that when women succeed, we all rise. ⬆️🌍—Hawaji, Malawi
