Meet Agustina Mogetta (she/her), a Climate Research Associate at SF Environment!

Agustina felt connected to the nature around her from a young age, leading her to study environmental management and protection in college. Learning about the different environmental issues ignited her passion to find solutions that will positively serve her community members and the world they live in.

Agustina joined SF Environment to fulfill her passions by supporting climate programs and policies that directly reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve daily life for San Francisco residents. Through her work in home electrification programs, she does both! She connects with residents on a personal level during heat pump water heater installations in their homes through the City’s free installation program. She enjoys helping residents experience the benefits of home electrification such as enhanced performance efficiency, increased comfort and resilience against the unpredictability of climate change, and improved health and safety.

Here are three ways Agustina recommends trying out home electrification:
1. Try out induction cooking! Try out induction cooking before switching permanently. PG&E will loan you one for free for 2 weeks! Request one through this link: pge-induction.myturn.com
2. Get a FREE heat pump water heater! The city has a new program in which eligible residents can get a FREE heat pump water heater to replace their old gas one. Check your eligibility and apply on: climateequitysf.org
3. Switch to renewable energy! San Francisco's grid is powered almost 100% by renewable energy. To ensure you are using clean energy sign up for cleanpowersf.org/supergreen or https://www.energyforallprogram.org/
