I brought my preschool children to these screenings over the years.

A FREE Developmental Screening will take place at Stanton City Hall this Friday, March 22, 2024.

The Developmental Screening Program is designed for children ages 0-5 focusing on 7 key areas of development. Qualified therapists screen children in the following areas: speech and language, fine and gross motor skills, emotional/behavior health, vision, hearing, dental, and health.

Southern California Film Academy Film Summer Camp for high schoolers- In this two-week session, students will gain an introduction to filmmaking, including the basics of writing, filming, editing, pre-production, production, and post-production. Begins Monday, July 31, 2023- Friday, August 11, 2023, at Santa Ana College. The camp will be held Monday through Friday from 10am-3pm
The scholarship promotional code they need to enter is SUMMERFILM. The normal camp cost is $1,025 and the promotional code is for $800 OFF. Total camp cost with code is: $225.00. There will be two more Santa Ana College film courses offered by the same professor in Fall 2023.

The mission of the Learning Rights Law Center is to focus on education equity, in particular on behalf of students who have been denied equal access to a public education based on disability or discrimination. The goal with this lecture is to underscore the power the parents have as individuals and as a community to fight a system that is treating them unjustly and without regard for the law. The Child Development and Education Studies Department is very enthusiastic to announce that seats are available for the fully online 8-week CDEV-210-23369 - Creative Music Experiences for Young Children, starting on April 10, 2023 during the Spring term.

This course Explores musical expression through songs and ballads, the elements of music, and diverse types of instruments as used in the early childhood curriculum. Includes the study of musical growth and development in young children and the use of music as a classroom management tool

The Bilingual Pre-School Para-Educator assists the bilingual Preschool Educator and other staff with planning and implementing a variety of activities to meet the educational needs of preschool-aged children; provides instruction and supervision to individuals and small groups in the District early childhood program; and helps with the preparation of instructional materials.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:
Receives immediate supervision from the assigned supervisor.

ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS OF THE POSITION:
Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
1.Supervisechildreninallactivitiesintheclassroom,ontheplayground,duringsnacktime,andonfield trips.

Experience and Training Guidelines:
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

Experience: Prior experience working with preschool aged children is highly desirable.
Training: High school graduate or equivalent and at least 18 years of age. 12 units of Child Development: In order to assume the position, candidate must have 6 units in courses covering child growth and development; child, family and community. May be working on the additional 6 units; at a rate of at least 2 units each semester until units are achieved.

Additional Requirement:
Possess an Associates of Arts (or higher) degree - OR – have completed 48 units from an accredited post- secondary educational institution – OR – pass the District proficiency test in area to which assigned.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Incumbents are required to pass the district proficiency test in the area to which assigned. (Spanish Test) *If selected, a TB Verification, Fingerprint Clearance, and State Mandated Immunization(s) will be required*
