Our Story
We currently have four main Clubhouses, four satellite operations, a 55 acre residential camp, and an Administrative office. Our first branch opened in Goleta (1952); later followed Santa Barbara West (1962), Carpinteria (1967), Lompoc (1988), and Camp Whittier (1988). Our newest location- Buellton opened its doors August 2017. In 2001 the United Boys and Girls Clubs merged as one corporation, as a cost savings measure for fundraising, finance and human resources.
Today the United Boys & Girls Clubs serve these communities throughout Santa Barbara County, helping over 3,000 members. Most youth come to the Clubs voluntarily to be with friends, participate in sports, and engage in educational activities. Children may be referred to the Clubs by schools, counselors, or other agencies as a means to gain a positive experience socially, educationally, physically, and emotionally under guidance of caring adults.
