Dealing with anxiety as a teen can be very challenging. Learning how anxiety relates to the whole person: emotionally, spiritually, relationally, and physically, can help lower anxiety levels and give you tools to address both your anxiety and help others in need.

The Youth Anxiety Summit is a free event for 7th-12th grade students and their parents only. Guest speakers include Care Pastor Dan Broyles, Student Ministry Director Gio Bonaventura, Therapists Aaron & Amy Kellogg, and Pastor Dave Wilson.

A wonderful way to grow is to grow something yourself. Do you have room for a houseplant or maybe a plot of soil outside of where you live? Nurture something wonderful this spring.

Posted • Whether the spring time change has you giddy for more sunlight, or struggling from lack of sleep, let it be a reminder that each season only lasts for a chapter. There are so many unwritten pages left to experience.

If you’re in a slump, creativity might be the best way out of it.

What’s your go-to creative hobby? And does it help with your mental health challenges?

Posted • This is something that needs to be discussed. We are not Pollyannas and recognize that experimenting with drugs and/or alcohol is at times a rite of passage, but there are some serious dangers that teens today are facing when using pot, and parents need to be aware and ensure their kids know what could happen. The amount of young people experiencing psychosis and schizophrenia from ma*****na usage is scary, and we have to talk about it.

Posted • When we lose our ability to feel sad, we lose our tenderness. It is a major aspect of ourselves that must be protected at all costs. If we can’t feel sad, we become coldhearted. Sadness does not equal weakness; rather, processing sadness leads to strength.

Posted • "Why am I doing this?”
I ask myself this question when I catch myself doing things for my kids that they should be doing themselves, like putting their dirty dishes in the dishwasher, putting away their clean laundry, or packing them lunch for the bus ride to their game. So often when I ponder this question, it leads to me feeling completely taken advantage of by my kids...

Part of the problem is that these gestures are my love language. I truly relish in making my boys feel loved and cared for. I know I need to back off a bit and let them do more for themselves – these are life lessons they need to learn. But I find myself justifying my actions.

If you can relate to these words, (like most parents can!) CLICK ON THE LINK IN MY BIO, then click: Am I Caring For or Enabling My Teen to read the whole post.
