Yesterday our teams had the wonderful opportunity to train with CHP - Coastal Division Air Operations on basic helicopter safety, and cold loading and hot loading with our canine partners.
This type of training is important since search deployments sometimes require teams to be dropped into or pulled out of a search area and we need to be prepared for those scenarios.
A BIG THANK YOU to CHP - Coastal Division Air Ops and their pilot and medic for their time, patience, and excellent instruction. Our teams really appreciated having this opportunity and we all look forward to more opportunities to train with the CHP Air Ops in the future!

Last Monday, some of our team members (alongside members of fellow canine SAR organizations CARDA and WOOF) had the valuable opportunity to participate in rattlesnake aversion training. This type of training helps our dog teams stay safer when searching out in the wilderness.
Big thank you to CalOES for providing this training opportunity to MBSD, and to Erick Briggs and K-9 Rattlesnake Aversion Training by Natural Solutions for the fantastic instruction!
