Good morning I love using this tool in the link below to consider the wealth building opportunities that are available to home owners! Even though we hear of a slow down in the news, I tell you in our market?…It’s still crazy here in the Santa Ynez Valley and in Santa Barbara! In Buellton alone, a 3/2 that sold in Oct ‘21 that was fixed up closed for $200k less than a very similar home slightly larger and not updated (but in great condition) that sold in March ‘22. If there is one thing that I have learned the last couple of years,
it is to be Grateful. To be grateful for problems I get to fix. To be grateful for a long hard day and falling asleep in my shoes at 8 pm. For early mornings and late nights. Most importantly, to be grateful for those around me each day.
My father and I would often talk about who we get up and work for each day and how it is a privilege to have people who care enough about our little family company to purchase our wines. How on long hauls of work, or sleepless nights in the cold, we always knew who we work for.
We work for you.
I have passed each one of our vines more than 50 times this year already. Sometimes walking, sometimes on the back of a tractor at 1.6 Mph. I am always looking down for things to correct, instruct, or make an improvement.

The Vineyard that graces the covers of the phone book, the book's cover literally written about wine in Santa Barbara County, has this Vineyard on it. I thought that this was an opportune moment to rechristen the rows with your name. You have been an integral part of the longevity of this small family business, and I wanted to thank you.
On Ballard Canyon. The Syrah Vines, The First Vines we had ever planted, The Saarloos and sons Family source.
Today on the end of a row, in that Vineyard, there is a small placard that bears your name. Soon you will be receiving a hat with a leather patch upon it, the twin of that row marker. Wear it proudly.

Because as I pass these row markers, I say the names upon them.
As a small reminder of who it is that we work for.
It is you.

And I will never forget that.
I am grateful.

We live to honor those who have come before us and prepare the way for those yet to come.
