Great concert next weekend - please support the Rusty Skippers and Scituate Historical Society - they even have a great food option too!!
It is with great sadness that we share the news of Mr. Fiddler's passing. He was a long time Board member of the Scituate Friends of Music and served as President for several years keeping the organization going for the next generation.
Mr. Lessard shared with us that Mr. Fiddler brought about the formation of the Gates Marching Band program. He brought his extensive experience as a percussionist with the U.S. Marine Corps Band. He generously shared his knowledge with Mr. Lessard and volunteered with the Gates Marching Band for at least a decade. He gave hundred of hours coaching the band, tuning the drums and designing drills. Most importantly he taught the band how to be selfless, kind, determined and dedicated to serving others while honoring fallen soldiers from our community.
Mr. Lessard is putting together a group to play music at his funeral service on Monday, July 8, at the First Trinitarian Congregational Church, Country Way, Scituate at 10:00am.
The band will play one piece "A Song for Friends". https://www.jwpepper.com/A-Song-for-Friends/2389294.item
Current Scituate students please use this Google Doc if you can come play, so he can organize the music: https://forms.gle/hWDzrqMU7mdF2QEQ8 or if you are no longer a Scituate student you can drop him an email at [email protected] .
Our deepest condolences to the Fiddler family on the loss of a wonderful, husband, father, and friend.

Congratulations and best wishes for all that is yet to come. 🎉
Congratulations to all of our graduating seniors! We are incredibly proud of all of you!
Spring for the Arts gave us a great opportunity to recognize and thank Angie Kelly outgoing Treasurer and Alexa Houghton outgoing President of the Friends of Music.
Both have dedicated their time and talents to our music booster during their years as parents at Scituate High. We can only hope to make it look easy as they did to keep all the extra events happening.
They have raised money, hosted Open Mic events, provided support to our music team in hosting Junior Districts, helped run two mattress fundraisers and sat a table in the lobby st Scituate Performing Arts Center for more hours than they’d care to add up- all to raise awareness of the work of the Friends!
Thank you so much - we miss you already.
