🔜Only two months to go until our first open rehearsal of the season! More details to come, but some basics included in the pictures here.
If you're a current member leave a comment with one of your favorite things about singing with us!
Hello everybody and Happy Summer! Danica the conductor here to thank you belatedly for supporting our season and coming to our concerts! I am sorry I was not able to greet and welcome all the new faces in the audience — next time!
We had record audiences at Christmas and in April! We are so grateful for your attendance and we hope you will come to another performance.
On this gorgeous Summer Cape Cod day, I'm thinking of wintry music prepping our next concert season. We hope to see all our new friends in attendance (and maybe even in the chorus?!) this December. More details very soon so you can save the date, know what to expect, etc.
Some thoughts I'm having:
Magnificat! (Durante, formerly thought of as being Pergolesi) — a lovely, ebullient piece
Celtic Christmas — delights from Great Britain and Ireland
Carols — Definitely to sing along!
A lovely String Quartet, and a gorgeous Piano.
Can't wait to see you (and hear you)!
Nollaig shona dhuit (Happy Christmas)!
🔜The countdown to our new season begins!
As we prepare over the course of the Summer for the new choral year, we want to take a moment to thank our sponsors for the 2023-2024 season. We couldn't have put on our wonderful performances without their support! We hope you browse their socials, engage with them, and visit some of them this Summer:

We're excited to perform some magnificent pieces again today! Limited tickets at the door, get there early to snag one!
We're truly inspired by this text by Maya Angelou and music by Rollo Dilworth featured in a song from the first half, "United in Purpose:"
The onus is upon us all to work to improve the human condition. Perform good deeds, for that is truly the way to battle the forces of entropy that are at work in our world. The composite of all our efforts can have an effect. Good done anywhere is good done everywhere. When we unite in purpose, we are greater than the sum of our parts.
Two more sleeps until concert day!! We're getting excited! Join us on Saturday April 27th at 7:30 PM or Sunday April 28th at 4 PM to celebrate some great American music!
Listen to a few more of our singers tell you their favorite songs in the program! We hope you join us this weekend!
Check out our program, especially the program listing and program notes. And thank you to our advertisers and sponsors!
We will have a shorter form program at the concert and a QR code to the full program, but you can take a look at it now!

Here are some of the powerful words we’ll sing! First from "Music Inspires All" by Rollo Dilworth:
Music brings light! Music brings joy!
Music brings justice! Music inspires us all!
May our music inspire all!
And from "United in Purpose" by Maya Angelou:
The onus is upon us all to work to improve the human condition. Perform good deeds, for that is truly the way to battle the forces of entropy that are at work in our world. The composite of all our efforts can have an effect. Good done anywhere is good done everywhere.
When we unite in purpose, we are greater than the sum of our parts.
Don't miss this uplifting, inspiring, fun, energetic concert!
The Choral Art Society is pleased to offer a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating senior from the South Shore who plans to pursue music as a major in college — from music theory, to composition, to merchandising, to conducting, to history, to therapy, to performance, and beyond. We are proud to call it the William T. Adams Scholarship in honor of our founding director. Bill was a beloved fixture in the South Shore music community, and a prominent educator who influenced the careers of many future choral musicians.
This year’s scholarship is awarded to Scarlett Hickman! Scarlett is a current senior at Scituate High School where she has excelled in choral and dramatic arts. She has been accepted into the Music and Technology program at SUNY Purchase College.
To quote Scarlett: “As I embark on this exhilarating journey, I remain steadfast in my conviction that music can transcend boundaries, unite communities and transform lives. This belief will continue to guide me as I carve out my path in the realm of music and beyond.”
Please join us in congratulating Scarlett!
