🏆 | Labor Day Cup - Tournament Recap
A positive weekend for our B12 Orange team who also had some players from our Black team also! It was a tough opening where we faced a tough battle vs BVB who were the better team on the day and deserved to win despite a good battling effort from us.
We would then go on to face Kitsap Alliance. A great cross from Crosby was met by Calvin who converted for 1-0. Kitsap were awarded a penalty with 5 left on the clock but Arlo made a terrific save. However the opposition would get the leveller not long later but a much improved performance from the boys.
On the last day we would face Everett FC. Again it was another tight game with action at both ends. It would be a screamer that would open the scoring, a strike from range by Ryland would open the scoring for 1-0. Toward the end Everett were awarded a penalty after a sustained period of pressure. But would you believe Arlo would go on to save again only this time there would be no breakthrough minutes later and we held on for the win!
A great weekend by the boys but we missed out on the final by a point. However we can be proud of this weekends efforts ahead of the league season! 👏
🏆 | Labor Day Cup - Tournament Recap
The boys had some impressive performances this weekend. We had a tough start which ended in defeat vs Eastside but we bounced back in style with a big win over NSC with a hat-trick from Ewan, a brace from Zach and a goal from Crosby.
There was a thriller the next day vs Seattle United. The boys fell 2-0 down early on but didn’t let their heads drop and a remarkable comeback came courtesy of goals from Ewan, Zach, Crosby & Rafa to secure a 4-2 win.
Great to see this team developing positively under coach Wasif and well done to all on a great tournament performance. ☘️
🏆 | Labor Day Cup - Tournament Recap
It was a very successful tournament for the girls. A great group stage saw the girls defeat Valor, Seattle United & Tracyton to make the final.
We face WW Surf in the final but sadly we just fell short in the final despite a great effort and an amazing goal by Sylvie. Despite not bringing home the trophy we’re delighted by the effort made by the girls and lots of positives to take home going into the league season.
🏆 | Eastside Cup - Tournament Recap
This group has already come a long way in their development and it showed this weekend. Wins over Eastside Bellevue, Washington Premier and Eastside secured the boys passage to the final.
We met Washington Premier in a rematch of our Saturday match, we started very strong and were rewarded with the first goal off a Luc freekick that was deflected at the wall.
WPFC responded with a good goal around our right side. We went into half time at 1-1. At the restart we played a ball in behind that went out for a goalkick, which they then played short and we pressed, resulting in the second goal for Luc on the day with an assist from Niko to make it 2-1. The third goal came off the back of a throw-in, which Niko had a nice shot/cross, which was cleared off the goal line before Luc could get there to put it away to make it
3-1. Our final act in the game was a Jonah freekick from the top of the box, that he hit just about as hard as he could through the wall to make it 4-1.
A great weekend from these boys to bring home the gold 💪

🏆 | SoCal Cup - Tournament Recap
G12 Green became Champions in California after a tough game vs Eastside. The girls arguably deserved to win in normal time with many great chances created. Credit to the Eastside GKs who were on fine form.
The game ended at 0-0 and went to pens. Lauren however was the hero when she came up with 3 saves out of 3 and Ivy, Cici, and birthday girl Jade came up with the finishes to bring home the gold. Well done to the girls!
B11 Green - SoCal Cup Finalists! The boys pushed Future FC from California all the way but eventually fell 1-0 - good experience for the boys and plenty to build on for the upcoming Eastside Cup and Fall WPL 1 season! Well done Asa and lads! ☘️
G11 Green SoCal Cup Recap
“With some injury problems and travel conflicts we pulled in a group of G12s and one G13 prodigy, who graciously extended their Surf Cup vacations to help fill out our roster for SoCal, making this very much an impromptu coming together of kids from several teams.
The girls rose to that challenge, and quickly formed a cohesive group. That they were able to adapt to a new system and formation from little more than a quick discussion before our first match speaks volumes about the sophistication and understanding of these players.
In group play we faced two teams from Cal South and one from UT all of whom seemed cut from the same cloth – very physical, aggressive in the press, and relentless in their attacks behind our defensive lines. In spite of giving up quite a bit in terms of size and strength, we were able to cope with those threats using our tactical and technical advantages. We set the tone on day one with a competitive but convincing 3-1 win. By day two the team had come together and played some very attractive footy with a 2-nil victory that very much understated our dominance and creativity in possession. A draw on day three was enough to finish the group stage undefeated and advance to the final.
In the final we faced fellow Washingtonians, Cascade, who, with incredible pace and directness, overwhelmed our weary legs – the travel, weekend activities, and earlier matches, taking the inevitable toll. We continued to fight throughout, scoring a well struck consolation at the death. While the girls were understandably disappointed to not be crowned champions, we have to recognize the accomplishment of playing our way into the final against some very decent opposition in our first out-of-state tournament. This was an incredibly fun weekend through which we grew together on and off the field, and I really couldn’t be any more proud.” - Coach Paul
B09 Green SoCal Cup Tournament Summary
“SoCal Champs! Great weekend for the boys, fully deserved title for the group. Roster of 16 made the trip to Oceanside, each to their own contributing to the weekend’s success. We looked to play our game from the get go, building from the back, short purposeful passes, quick combinations back to front, and sharp movements in the final third. We finished the tournament the top goal scorers, with 10 goals over the 4 games.
Our wing backs and ACM’s provided us our creative spark this weekend, Eli Barr and Trumbull, and Miles Sanborn excellent out wide. Eli B with 5 assists on the weekend! James up front the major benefactor of these, ending the weekend with 6 goals ⚽️ Kieyan, Eli T, Blake and Miles S with the order 4. Vinnie and Amit’s movement from the ACM area too much for the opposition in each of our ties. Archer did well linking play in the half spaces, dropping in from the central ST area.
Logan, Will and Miles G excellent at CM, allowing us to control possession and the flow of the games. Our back line gave us the solid foundation to build from, and limited the opposition to minimal chances each game. 3 clean sheets for the group as a whole but especially for Zander at GK, and the defensive players Blake, Christian, Gio and John.” - Coach Shane
“Great start to the B11 EA trip to Ireland. We started with a friendly win against my schoolboy team Lucan Utd and managed to get in all the sites of Dublin, including the Guinness Storehouse! A big thanks to Shamrock Rovers for hosting the boys for a session at their academy center! We are now on the way to Galway today to play in the Galway Cup!” - Coach Conor!
Good luck boys🍀
🏆 | Rainier Valley Classic - Tournament Recap.
Well done to the B13 Green team who claimed the Rainier Valley Classic title at Starfire! Here’s coach Brendan’s account the the tournament: “We had a very impressive group of players that got better within each of our games. In our first game against PSA Force, we had a 0-0 draw. Declan had to make a couple of great saves to keep the shutout. On Saturday, we found our finishing touch and played Mount Rainier to a 3-0 win. Finally on Sunday we started with a matchup that proved to be the final against Seattle United to a 3-1 win and a 4-0 win in the final.
Shiloh, Alastair, and Micah were the stand out performers on the weekend. Each playing really well in their role. The team did a great job on the weekend of being positive, learning from mistakes, and learning how to play with each other even more.
The boys had four great games and we are very excited to see how this team continues to progress this fall!”
We cannot wait for this year’s Community Day!!! All the info about the event and how to register will be posted this Monday so stay tuned!
