📚 Books needed!

We are thankful for our volunteer lunchtime readers who come every Friday to read to the kids. Last Friday we had a volunteer who likes to do all the voices (my dad). Pardon the white bow on the principal's head. It was a "silly dress day" for her.

We teach children multi-letter sounds at an early age at Mercy Christian.

God continues to provide for Mercy Christian Academy. We created a school wish list for August, and we currently have 3 Playmobil sets, a sewing kit, a stencil set, 2 chess boards,Playdoh, a kickball, and some building blocks. What an answer to prayer!

Jesus says in Luke 12:32 , "Don't be afraid, little flock. It if your Father's pleasure to give you the Kingdom!"

Today MCA completed our 2024 Summer Workday. The purpose of this workday is to give back to Broadmoor in order to thank them for hosting our school. We cut and stacked tree limbs, picked up trash, and moved our school garden.

It's an honor to work with our students and parents to give back to the church that has given so much to us.

We look forward to opening our school doors in 2 weeks for the 2024-2025 school year!

I'm excited to share our 2024 MCA Amazon Classroom wish list. I remember the first year I shared this. I needed a rug for one of our classrooms. I felt led to pray for this need and someone randomly asked me later that day if I needed anything for our classrooms. They happily bought the circle rug that I needed. Each year I think people are going to forget about this, but every year someone asks if we are going to post the wish list.
So here it is. I focused on the play items we need for each grade. Children don't just play in Kindergarten at MCA. All grades have a designated period to play with educational materials of their choice. The Kindergarten kids like to play with a dollhouse and Playdoh. The 1st and 2nd grades like to build and draw and the 3rd and 4th graders like to sew and play chess.
Isn't childhood amazing? What a gift we have at Mercy Christian Academy to preserve this time period for kids and encourage creativity.

Some have asked about Mercy's Wishlists. We will work on updating those soon. In the meantime, we would welcome 4 or 5 more chess sets like the one listed below. Our older students enjoy the sport and this would allow many pairs to play during our Self-Guided Learning time. Thank you!

Mercy Monday

Thank you to everyone who gave to our 2024 Lego Drive. Every day the students have a time called "self-guided learning." This is a time for our students to build, read, or create something on their own. On Fridays, the kids listen to music and draw or build with Legos. Your Lego donation will help 10 more students enjoy building during that time. Bravo.

Thank you to everyone who has given LEGOS to Mercy Christian Academy so far. We have had 6 boxes of LEGOS given! It always grows my faith when I see God providing for our school. People have given everything from chairs to tables to LEGOS to snacks to financial scholarships for our students. GOD has moved in people's hearts to give. THANK YOU!

We had one lady drop off LEGOS this past week. We are definitely in need of more. If you have gently used LEGOS that you are not using, drop them off at 352 Pennsylvania. There are 37 new students who will be eager to use them in August!

Mercy Christian Academy is collecting gently used Legos! We need enough for our K-4th grades. So if you aren't using your Legos any more, we'd love to have them. Drop off at 352 Pennsylvania Ave.

Give for Good was a wonderful success. We raised over $25,000. Praise God. He moved in the hearts of many people to give, and for that we are grateful to our Father in heaven who knows our needs and constantly meets them.
