Islamic Society of Simi Valley
ISSV exists to firstly promulgate the true meaning and understanding of Islam as a Religion of Peace, Tolerance and Coexistence.
This page serves to provide regular updated information, give an insight of the role and activities of ISSV.
As previously announced the ISSV is using a phased approach to reopen and is now open for the five daily prayers. Tomorrow we will reopen for the first Jumah prayer since closure of the masjid in March. There will be 2 Jum'ah prayers tomorrow to maintain social distancing and adhere with state/county capacity limits currently (36 men, 11 women) in the masjid.
The 2 Jum'ah times for tomorrow are:
1st Khutbah starts: 1:10 pm
2nd Khutbah starts: 1:45 pm
Please depart the masjid after the prayer without socializing.
Please review the following important guidelines that must be followed. Note temperatures will be taken prior to entering the masjid and there will be a sign in process (name and phone number) per recommended health guidelines:
1. No one under the age of 16 is allowed.
2. Masks are required in the masjid.
3. You must bring your own prayer mat with you.
4. Perform your Wudu at home before coming the masjid. Restrooms are closed.
5. Maintain 6ft spacing at all times - pray and sit in the marked locations in the masjid.
6. No hugging or shaking hands.
7. Everyone will be subject to a temperature check and anyone with a 100.4 F or higher temperature will be asked to pray at home.
8. Anyone who has symptoms of respiratory illness or lives with someone who has these symptoms must stay at home.

After careful review of the latest State of California COVID-19 guidance and the recently updated Ventura County Stay at Home Order enabling houses of worship to reopen we are alhumdullilah happy to announce the plan for reopening the ISSV. A phased approach will be used to reopen the masjid and will begin with opening for the five daily prayers starting on Monday 6/8 Inshallah. We are also planning to hold the first Jumah prayer at ISSV next Friday 6/12 with more details to follow in a later email. Guidelines have been established and precautions put in place to ensure the safety of those attending the masjid. Please review the following list of guidelines for those who plan to come to the masjid.

Assalamu Alaikum (Peace and blessings be upon you)!
Everyone please update yourself with the latest prayer times!
May Allah accept all of our duas.
And do not despair! For He said:
“I am as my servant thinks I am. I am with him when he mentions Me. If he mentions Me to himself, I mention him to Myself and if he mentions Me in an assembly, I mention him in an assembly greater than it. If he draws near to Me a hand’s length, I draw near to him an arm’s length. And if he comes to Me walking I go to him at speed.” [Sahih Al-Bukhari]
“So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?” Qur'an Surah Ar-Rahman 55:13
We tend to take too many things of great significance for granted! Allah's mercy is present at every single step we take; we only need the eyes to see.
His bounties are innumerable…in the tiny pebble or raindrop and in the vast mountain or ocean! Alhamdoulillah (Praise be to God).
Let's start this week by freeing our hearts from the burden of anger, bitterness and resentment. Forgiveness takes away these ruinous emotions. Let's forgive, it's Sunnah!
