It's National Library Week and the theme for National Library Week 2024 is Ready, Set, Library! We are excited to announce that we have partnered with the Simi Valley Public Library to bring a cozy little library corner to the Free Clinic of Simi Valley for patients/clients to enjoy a book while waiting in our lobby! Books are rotated every 2 weeks to ensure there will always be new reads to enjoy while you are here.
Who are some of your favorite authors, book genres, and if you could be a character from a book who would it be?
Why did the doctor carry a red pen?
In case they needed to draw blood!

Celebrating International Women's Day with a Tribute to arguably the mother of the Free Clinic of Simi Valley, Dr. Clementina Paolone.
Today, in honor of International Women's Day, we remember the incredible contributions of women who have made a lasting impact in every field.
We share the story of a remarkable woman, Dr. Clementina Paolone, a pioneer in medicine and a true power house!
Dr. Paolone was one of the first women gynecologists in the United States, she broke barriers and paved the way for countless others. Beyond her distinguished medical career, she fearlessly ventured into politics, activism, and was a published author, and a lifelong advocate for the power of women in shaping our world.
Even in her retirement, Dr. Paolone's commitment to serving others remained strong. Volunteering at the Free Clinic of Simi Valley in the early 1970's in her 70's she continued to make a difference in the lives of those in need.
We celebrate and honor the legacy of Dr. Clementina Paolone and all the women who have blazed trails, shattered ceilings, and uplifted communities. Their resilience, passion, integrity, resourcefulness and compassion inspire us to strive for a brighter future for us all. Happy International Women's Day! πβ¨
