Shout out to YouthWorks summer camp for joining us at our Rapid City Distribution Center. These amazing young volunteers dedicated their time and energy to packing BackPacks, ensuring that children will get easy-to-make meals over the weekend. Thank you, YouthWorks, for your support and commitment to helping feed our community. Together, we are making a significant impact!

“It’s a great way to build community without any strings attached,” says Pastor Sharla.

The food pantry in the Knollwood housing development area of Rapid City is working hard to bring their community together, which has resulted in families being fed and a reduction in local crime.

Beginning August 14, the Pierre mobile distribution at River Cities Public Transit will be moved to Oahe Sports Complex. It will run from 11am-1pm.

🌟 Volunteer Story Spotlight! 🌟

At the Feeding South Dakota Rapid City Distribution Center, our regular volunteer brought their grandkids along for a day of giving back. During a break, the kids built an impressive tower of noodles—only to have it toppled by our mischievous Operations Manager, Kimberly Wallace! 😂 Moments like these remind us of the joy and community spirit that fill our days.

Did you know avocados were once called "alligator pears"? 🐊🥑 Their bumpy green skin inspired this unique nickname! Over time, the name "avocado" took over, derived from the Aztec word "ahuacatl."

🎆Happy 4th of July from Feeding South Dakota! As we celebrate this day of independence, we want to inform you that our distribution centers will be closed on July 4th and 5th. Enjoy the holiday!

Thanks to their efforts, Sanaa's raised $500 and Firehouse raised $1,000, all of which will be donated to Feeding South Dakota for the purchase of beef to help those facing hunger. Today, we want to give a big shoutout to one of our volunteers, Darla, who brought her grandchildren to help out at Feeding South Dakota for the first time! 🙌 They had an amazing time and said that they'd love to come back. We're so happy to provide opportunities for younger generations to learn the importance of volunteering and understand the reality of hunger in our communities.

A heartfelt thank you to the South Dakota Cattlemen's Foundation!

This last weekend at the 11th Annual Prime Time Gala, they generously presented Feeding South Dakota with a donation of $303,622 on-stage at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center. This incredible contribution brings the total donations from the Cattlemen's Foundation to an astounding $2,720,044!

This we want to shout out our friends at Casey's! We were able to spend the day together volunteering and celebrating the North Sioux City store.

The North Sioux City store raised the most out of any Casey's store in their Feeding America round-up campaign! Thank you for your ongoing support of local food banks like Feeding South Dakota!
