Unfortunately, our "Hitting for Headstones" Softball Tournament will be rescheduled due to the expected weather. We will share the new date as soon as it's set! The good news is that you can still support our work at Greenwood Cemetery! Estimates for the needed repair work at the cemetery total over $50,000. Any donation will be listed on our banner at the tournament, and we still have sponsorship options available. Email [email protected] for more information.

Properly securing your load contributes to safer, cleaner roads.
Follow these tips to ensure you properly secure your cargo:
✔️ Tie cargo down with rope, netting, or straps.
✔️ Tie large objects directly to your vehicle or trailer.
✔️ Consider covering the entire load with a sturdy tarp or netting.
✔️ Don’t overload your vehicle or trailer.
✔️ Always double-check your load to make sure it’s secure.

Do your part to prevent roadside litter which can cause crashes, traffic delays, injuries, and fatalities.

Our fearless KSB leader and local business owner, Solange Ledwith, broke both her tibia and fibula in a freak accident recently. Her jiu-jitsu family at Rogue Jiu Jitsu/American Killer Bees NOLA is having a fundraiser for her this Saturday! Stop in and help them get Solange back on her feet! If you can't attend the event, stop by Swamp Girl Glass Blowing LLC one day and purchase some beautiful ready-made items in her storefront. Her work is gorgeous!

There are so many better ways to celebrate or honor your loved ones.
Our favorite alternative to a balloon release is planting a tree or donating to the Arbor Day Foundation. 🌳🌎

It may seem fun to release balloons to celebrate graduation, but what goes up, must come down. Balloons litter the environment and harm fish and wildlife. Instead, plant a tree to commemorate the special occasion!

We've passed out fifteen cigarette butt receptacles to local businesses this week, and we've had to order more! If you requested one but haven't received it this week, we will deliver yours as soon as the new order arrives! We are thrilled to have so many businesses taking part in keeping cigarette butts off the ground. Every cigarette butt that ends up in a receptacle is one less that ends up in our waterways.

DID YOU KNOW?
Cigarette butts do not biodegrade. Instead, they slowly leak a chemical cocktail of highly toxic and carcinogenic substances into soils, waterways, lakes, and the oceans.
We can help prevent this! Any business in Slidell can request a FREE cigarette butt receptacle and we will deliver it to your door! Thank you for doing your part Camellia City Pizza!!!
These receptacles were purchased thanks to a cigarette litter prevention grant provided by Keep America Beautiful.

🌎❤️Not only is today Earth Day, but here in Louisiana, it's Love the Boot Week! Love the Boot Week is a special initiative implemented by Keep Louisiana Beautiful to raise awareness of our state's litter problem and to promote litter prevention.
Throughout this week, we will be sharing a powerful story, 'Harry the Snakebird' by Wendy Carbo, with local schools. This book, based on a true story, is a testament to the impact of our actions. It tells the story of a snakebird who was freed from litter at Capitol Lake in Baton Rouge, inspiring us all to make a difference.
We kicked off our week of education at Little Oak Middle School with a very special guest reader, Greg Cromer - Mayor of Slidell!
Keep Slidell Beautiful board member and Little Oak Middle School's Assistant Principal, Allison Bolin, also served as a guest reader!
Special thanks to Lt. Governor Billy Nungesser for generously donating the books so that they may be added to each school's library.

SLIDELL STRONG! 💪
Following the tornadoes' aftermath, our Spring Clean-up took on a new form. A portion of our dedicated volunteers chose to collaborate with Rebuild Slidell and Convoy of Hope. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to them, as well as to those who persevered with our original plan, demonstrating their commitment to beautification and litter removal.
Our litter crews picked up 1,700 lbs of trash in two hours!
