A huge THANK YOU to those of our Hi 4-H members who gathered today to remember our Veterans, Fallen Soldiers, and elderly this Christmas season.
Members visited Unit 6 Convalescent Center and talked about their 4-H program, handed out Christmas cards and candy canes, as well as Holiday Centerpieces.
Then they stopped at the Military Memorial Monument in front of the Tuolumne County Library. Wreaths were placed around the monument with hand written messages from our members.
These members then stopped at the Tuolumne County VA Hospital and honored the six branches of military with wreaths, and paid respects to those who've gone before us by reading their names and acknowledging the sacrifice they gave. Each Veteran at the VA was greeted with thanks and gratitude, a Christmas card, candy cane and smile.
Last stop of the day was a visit to the Carter's Cemetary in Tuolumne city. Our members viewed the many headstones of our war heroes and heroines. Wreaths and Evergreen Decorations were placed upon their resting places.
Our Veterans were very thankful for our members thoughts and actions. There were many smiles and tears of joy.
These members should be proud of themselves today. May each and every Veteran and all of their families have a very Merry Christmas!
