POV: When the Sherman “band” goes on a week-long summer break, and they’re still “NSYNC” when they come back to work!

We welcomed our newest DC2Bs to summer quarter orientation yesterday and the first day of classes today! We’re excited to see this new group of students begin their journey towards adjusting the world for a better future! 🦁

Sherman College of Chiropractic was well represented by alumni, regents and college founder Dr. Thom Gelardi at the second annual Flags for Heroes event hosted by the Palmetto Council of the Boy Scouts of America on June 12th. Held at Spartanburg’s Duncan Park and Veterans Point Memorial Park, the event recognized and celebrated individuals who have made a difference in our community and our country with a display of American flags.

Sherman attendees, each with a special connection to scouting, included Dr. Scott Baker '12, who is a Life Scout; Dr. Beth Ehlich '90, Regent, whose son is pursuing his Eagle Scout; Leah Kent, President's Circle Regent, whose son is pursuing his Life Scout; Dr. Russell Goff '19, Regent, was a Cub Scout Webelo; and Dr. Thom Gelardi, Silver Beaver Award recipient.

The folks from Remarkable Practice hosted a wonderful Conversion and Retention Immersion event on June 7th-8th in Nashville, TN and I had the privilege of attending.

Over 650 attendees sat for two days and gained incredibly valuable knowledge about launching, building, scaling, and exiting a practice. Drs. Stephen Franson and Peter Camiolo held our attention while informing, educating, and inspiring us with their experience, research, and results of being in successful practices for many decades. Three Sherman students were there and they shined brightly as volunteers and attendees.

The Remarkable Practice is a Corporate Regent and has plans to support Sherman College. We are grateful for their desire to make Sherman even greater!

We celebrated esteemed faculty member Dr. Kevin Power as he rang out to retirement after 21 years of dedicated teaching at Sherman College of Chiropractic! 🎉✨ Thank you, Dr. Power, for your incredible commitment, passion, and the countless lives you've touched. Here's to a well-deserved and fulfilling retirement! 🥂👏

Chiropractic care meets competitive spirit! 🥎💪 Our Sherman College softball teams, Tappin Axis and The GameCoccyx, battled it out in a thrilling Sherman vs. Sherman showdown game on May 21 as part of the community adult softball program with the Spartanburg County Parks Department. We're proud of our players for showcasing skill and sportsmanship and having a whole lot of fun!

We rocked out at Sherman College of Chiropractic's "Band Tee Day"! 🎸✨ Students and faculty came together to pay homage to their favorite bands and music legends. From classic rock to modern hits, we celebrated the power of music and unity. Keep on rocking, Sherman family! 🤘🎶

Welcome Puerto Rico educators! 🎓✨ Sherman College of Chiropractic recently hosted a group of Puerto Rico high school teachers and college counselors with the Autopista Americas College Recruiting Tour for a first-hand look at Sherman student life and to learn how the Sherman family unites to serve the community. Sherman College of Chiropractic recently received the Hearts and Hands Award from the SC School for the Deaf and the Blind (SCSDB) at their annual Awards Day event. The award recognizes those who have benefited the SCSDB either through contributions or improvements to the Spartanburg campus facilities or programs. Sherman was recognized for donations from students, faculty, and staff to SCSCB's back-to-school drive each August and the Angel Tree program each December. Accepting the award on behalf of Sherman was Dean of Clinics Brian Dooley, D.C., A.C.P., D.Ph.CS, and Assistant Professor of Clinical Sciences and Chiropractic Health Center Case Doctor Tara Madden, D.C., C.A.C.C.P. The award was presented by SCSDB President Jolene L. Madison and SCSDB Foundation Executive Director Sam Hook.

Congratulations to the newest graduates of the Academy of Chiropractic Philosophers who received their prestigious medallion award at Sherman College of Chiropractic's 2024 Lyceum event. 🎓 These ACP graduates join a prestigious group of chiropractors with in-depth knowledge of chiropractic philosophy and its relationship to the above-down-inside-out worldview. 🌟

Sherman College's first annual Kids Day America, held on May 18, 2024, welcomed 250 community residents to the college's Chiropractic Center for a day of fun, learning, and community connection! This event was not just about introducing families to the incredible benefits of chiropractic care but also about fostering health, safety and environmental awareness in our community. We extend heartfelt gratitude to the many donors, vendors and Sherman volunteers who made the day a grand success!
