CLOSED WEDNESDAY APRIL 24
In commemoration of the Armenian Genocide.
In 1915, Turkish leaders began a systematic attempt to end the Armenian race. 1.5 MILLION Armenians were slaughtered including my grandparents’ families.
I am proof that Turkey failed. Skewers is proof that Armenians will thrive. My mission is to create a legacy so that those who perished did not do so in vain. They died so the Armenian race would not and I owe it to them to preserve our culture, our language, our identity, our heritage. And so I will.
Skewers for dinner this weekend? Shawarma wrap, why not. Look at the meat cooking and then ➡️ look at it in a wrap 🫓
It’s so good! Hand stacked skewer, cooking on the rotisserie. Then wrapped in lavash with toum (garlic sauce), taratour (tangy sesame sauce), pickles, lettuce, and tomato. Comes with a side of Fries, Salad, or hummus!
See you soon 🌟

Ah, Armenian Christmas! Did you know Armenians celebrate Christmas on Jan 6th? Such a wonderful time filled with unique traditions and delicious dishes. One traditional pumpkin dish that is often enjoyed during this festive season is called “ghapama.” Ghapama is a delightful Armenian stuffed pumpkin dish that is both visually stunning and incredibly tasty.
To prepare ghapama, a pumpkin is carefully hollowed out and stuffed with a flavorful mixture of rice, dried fruits like raisins and apricots, nuts such as almonds and walnuts, and aromatic spices like cinnamon and cloves with the addition of honey for a touch of sweet. The pumpkin is traditionally baked in the historical household ovens in Armenian called a “toneer,” which is made out of stone and dug into the ground. Today, where Toneers are not common, alternatively it is baked in any oven until it becomes tender and the flavors meld together.
Stay tuned for details of our special Armenian 🇦🇲 Christmas dinner on Jan 6th! Merry Christmas Eve friends.

We are excited to be sharing one of the hidden treasures of our culture!
Interesting fact, the oldest discovered winery in the world is located in Armenia, dating back 6100 years!
Near this very same cave, which was discovered by archeologists in recent decades, is the region of Armenia called Areni ( Արենի ). It is considered the wine country of Armenia, and the bold, dark grapes growing there are also named Areni. The continuous cultivation in this region likely means the modern day Areni grapes are the same varietal and very similar to the grapes being used 6100 years ago!

Kebab is something that we did not serve on the food truck. People loved it but the only way to get it was to order catering so we often had it at their private events. I would say this is a food item on our menu, know that our faithful customers have been super excited about now that they can get Kebab anytime they come to Skewers!
What about you… Have you had our kebabs yet? Choose from chicken beef or lamb or mix it up!
Come for Skewers, stay for a history lesson? Part of the drive for this restaurant is keeping my ancestors’ legacy alive, so when a customer opens the door, nothing brings me more joy than to tell the stories of my ancestors. The fight for survival, the suffering, the perseverance… all so I could be here.
I won’t impose, but when asked, I will never miss a chance to tell the stories, to explain why we spell it “Pakhlava”, or what Armenian coffee is…
Skewers is my part in keeping Armenian culture thriving. We won’t be a forgotten race.

Our Story
#SpokanehasShawarma
Skewers began when I moved to Spokane in 2009 and could not find authentic yummy Middle Eastern food that I had grown up with and loved! I started cooking it myself, for myself. Then I started sharing it with friends. And after some years, I was ready to share it with Spokane!
How can a city with a thriving food scene like Spokane not have Middle Eastern street food? I suppose we’ll never have a good answer, but we no longer need one. Spokane has Shawarma and Falafel and many more Middle Eastern classic dishes! Skewers is committed to traditional recipes!
Everything on the truck is fresh! We hate shortcuts. Nothing but the best, because our mission is simple: bring the Middle Eastern street food to Spokane. It’s not about anything else! I mean it.
