I have been trying out a way to say this over the past few months but it is with great sadness that I am not going to be able to keep the business going. Covid definitely kept things difficult with no farmers markets and no way to be profitable. The ducks have been hanging out and relaxing these past few months and they are getting adopted by a much larger farm with 20x the animals! They will be back with the males that I already gave them and are all going to live a nice happy life free roaming up north of Spokane! Thanks for all the support and encouragement! If anyone wants the logo to print out their own apparel just let me know!

There is nothing more satisfying than a clean duck pond and 2,000 pounds of bark mulch spread out in the run! The key to success with ducks is clean water and keeping the ground as dry as you can. If you are thinking about getting ducks make sure to only get the softest mulch you can get to avoid any splinters! I hope you all are having a great start to the week and are staying healthy! We will be opening back up to full force in the next few weeks so stay tuned!

I am happy to say that I was able to donate some of the eggs we have as well as sell a few dozen! I am staying committed to keeping this small farm going even though owning 19 ducks is definitely not going to make me rich😅 Any chance you have to do a good deed for someone I encourage you to help someone out during these crazy times. I promise it will make their day and the amount of messages and comments I got shows that its needed now more than ever. We are getting almost a dozen eggs some days and any money from sold eggs is just going into feed to keep these quackheads laying and helping some people out!

Stay healthy and help your neighbors!

The ducks are still scared of new objects including cell phones, so we were able to sneak a video through the chicken wire! The duck with the green head is one of our bigger males and the brown duck is one of the medium sized females! The average mallard duck in the wild is the size of the female for a size reference on how big our Golden 300 males really are. We are getting 10 eggs a day and the ducks are making sure that within 10 minutes of cleaning the pond, they add their favorite mud to it. I hope everyone is staying healthy and I can't wait to be able to open back up for sales!

Hey all you cool ducks and ducklings!

I'll start off by saying I hope everyone is staying healthy and making ends meet during this crazy time! I'd like to introduce you to Porky and Ray. They not only are some of the cutest dogs around, they also are perfect predator deterrent for the ducks! Although the boys aren't watching the ducks 24/7, their territory is marked and it's proving to be the best way to keep the coyotes away from all of the quackheads! There has been a ton of spottings around us and even some chickens lost by neighbors. Coyotes are absolutely avoiding the property and it keeps them a hell of a lot safer than if they were trying to get any of our 19 flying pets. If you do not have dogs and want to protect poultry from some of the most ferocious predator, swing by your local hunting store and pick up some predator urine to sprinkle around!

Have a great weekend and support your local small businesses!

Hey all you cool ducks and ducklings, we can finally say we are no longer the owners of ducks that just eat and p**p! The first duck started laying an egg a day and she is setting the pace for the 13 others. Within a few weeks we will have over a dozen eggs a day and giving us the possibility to hatch our own ducklings!

With these crazy times and the apparel side of the business closed, I am completely available to answer any questions you might have about ducks! Don't panic buy chicks like the rest of the country is doing. Ducks not only lay bigger and healthier eggs, they are also way more resilient to diseases and weather. If you are thinking about buying ducks, shoot me a message or email and I will respond as fast as I can!

As many of you may know, we are based out of Spokane, Washington. Our Governor has issued a shelter in place order and it includes the temporary closure of all non essential businesses. My business license is only for apparel and not for the farm because we arent getting any eggs yet and there are a few things I need to purchase to be a legal egg seller! That means that we are going to be shutting apparel sales because our printer will also be closed. That being said, we can't wait to come back as strong as ever when all of this passes, no matter how long we have to wait. I appreciate the incredible support and my heart goes out to those who have become unemployed due to Covid-19. I will continue to update you all and I hope you and your family stay safe!
As soon as we get eggs we will do our part to help those who need it the most!

With Love,
The Friendly Neighborhood Quack Dealer

Thursday Night Farm Update!

The apparel is finally getting sent out. As a small business owner I try my best to support other local businesses and sometimes that means some unexpected setbacks. The owner of the business I ordered from fell ill and it set back the printing of the shirts. I appreciate the patience from everyone and in return I got you all a higher quality product and something extra thrown in!
I am going to be running a competition for everyone who bought apparel! Whoever gets the most likes of a photo of them wearing Quack Dealer apparel will get to pick any item from the store for FREE!!!!! The contest will end at the end of March.
I can't wait to see you guys wearing the logo! I had to take a picture of the best combo I could ask for😅
You guys are the absolute best!

Did you know that ducks can eat almost all the veggies you throw away? I try to get them new vegetables as much as I can to keep them stimulated and excited. Fruit can be fed to them but not too much, because too much sugar isn't good for them! The ducks are enjoying the great weather we are having and are bugging me to start building the pond!

03/06/2020

Thursday night farm update! The weather is getting warmer and we saw 58 degrees this week! The ducks were very hesitant to go outside and it took me individually catching each duck to get them to go through the door. They are finally warming up to the idea that fresh air is fun! We should be installing a large pond and bio filter in the next few weeks and it should be just in time for egg overload! We will have 100 eggs a week!!

Important update! We had to make a design change to the shirts because when the shirt was printed, the ink was way too thick and it felt like a dinner plate on your chest! It will set back the delivery time by about a week so I apologize for any inconvenience this will cause! We also are 80% done with the duck run and all I have left is running lights, adding a huge pond, and shoveling 2 tons of gravel! Next step after that is getting the garden in order and getting the duck p**p a good use! Thursday night Farm updates will start next week with way more pictures and maybe a video!

02/24/2020

Happy Monday! I'm going to start doing a Thursday night farm update! There will also be a ton more duck pictures and videos because the weather is getting warm enough for me to finish the outdoor duck coop and pond! The apparel has been ordered and I can not wait to get it sent out to everyone who ordered!

02/14/2020

Place your orders by tomorrow night!!!

I found somewhere local to me to do the custom apparel so that means that it will be a lot faster for delivery. I will also be starting to stock the most common colors and sizes of shirts and sweaters which means way less waiting! I appreciate all of the support and orders that you guys have placed! The ducks cant wait to see pictures you take wearing your shirts and sweaters!

GET YOUR ORDERS IN BEFORE THE NIGHT OF VALENTINE'S DAY!

I have a few exciting things to share! I have finally dialed in the male to female ratio so now ducks can start to get named. The males that I got rid of got taken to a small farm in Deer Park where they will have plenty of females to flirt with! I have fully dialed in the feed and water situation so that the coop is staying dry and so that it minimizes the amount of time I need to spend in the coop stressing them out. There are also plans of a local restaurant donating their vegetable scraps to help offset feed costs! Stay tuned for updates in that realm of things because it might mean that the duck farm will be getting bigger in the near future! This is the final week to pre order your duck apparel and to be the part of the first group helping us advertise and support the farm! I'm looking forward to seeing you guys post pictures wearing the shirts and sweaters!

02/05/2020

I have some big news! Today while feeding the ducks I dropped my light and spooked all of the quackheads. For the first time one of them took flight! Yes you read that correctly, the quackheads are now able to fly! Do you know what else is fly? The Friendly Neighborhood Quack Dealer apparel! Thank you to all of the people who have already ordered shirts and stickers, I appreciate it from the bottom of my heart. I am going to be placing the large order on Valentine's day so make sure to order soon! Thanks for all of the support!

I figured I haven't shared too much about the ducks so I'm going to give you some interesting facts about what it's like to have 25! We currently have 11 males and 14 females. There is a certain ratio of male to female to make sure that we dont have any females that get mated to death! The goal is a 5 female ducks to every 1 male duck. If we keep the males separated they will mate with the weakest male until he dies. Pretty vicious animals for as cute as they are. The ducks go through over 400 pounds of feed a month and they are using at least 55 gallons of water in about 5 days! Keeping the little quackheads happy and clean is by far one of the hardest parts about duck farming. When the coop gets cleaned it fills up a 55 gallon drum of you know what! I'm going to be sad when the males get given to a new home but at least it'll keep the quack house mellow and filled with love😅 Make sure to order some apparel and I cant wait until the outdoor coop is complete and ready for them to be more photogenic!

I forgot to post all of the apparel on the website! Thanks to everyone who has shared the website post! We are up to 1200 views on it! Make sure to hit the shop now button at the top of the page and stay tuned for a limited opportunity to name some ducks!

01/27/2020

Big news! The website is officially live and there are 5 colors available for short and long sleeve shirts! We have hoodies and stickers as well! I appreciate the patience and orders will be in your hands by the first week of March! If there is a quantity discount on my first big order I will make sure to make it up to you guys! Hit the shop now button at the top of the page or visit friendlyneighborhoodquackdealer.com

I apologize for the long wait on the apparel! It turns out that figuring out how to raise 25 fully grown ducks is a lot of hard work and some innovating as far as the coop is concerned! I have finally gotten the watering situation figured out using 55 gallon drums instead of 5 gallon watering containers! The ducks are eating about 400 pounds of feed a month now! I will have the website up and running and the online store set up and ready to go by the end of the weekend! I appreciate the patience and I look forward to finally getting apparel ordered and sold!

01/10/2020

Hello everyone! I would like to formally welcome you to our page. Apparel will be getting designed very soon and we will post about how to order, as well as all the designs we will have available. For those of you who haven't been in the loop on my personal page, let me give you an intro to the business. It all started when I randomly got the idea to buy 25 ducklings and raise them at our home. Those 25 ducklings are not so small anymore, and they are on track to give us about 15 eggs a day starting in spring. The name of the business came before the ducks and I figured I had to go through with the idea! As funny as the name may seem, I am very passionate about raising the happiest and healthiest ducks. The apparel side of things helps fund the farm and the constant want to build the ultimate duck palace. A small portion of all profits will also be donated to charities helping those with addiction, and we will keep you posted once those charities are picked! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting our small business and I look forward to sharing the journey with you!
