2 back to back community project days in a row. phew! Started early to beat the heat. Tried anyway
Day 1) Mr & Mrs Cunningham (a sr DeMolay’s grandparents). Drove out to Elk to clear an overgrown orchard. Then enjoyed grilled hamburgers & hotdogs
Day 2) helping out Kim from Masonic Services clear 1,000 lbs worth of roofing materials left by the contractor. Supposed to be 100° today 🥵
What a whirlwind weekend!
Parking lot football catch. Then headed to Millwood park for crud War and wash off. Even those who were like, ‘I’m not doing that’ had fun. After the splash pad, headed back to the lodge. From the lodge to Mission park for a bbq and swimming. Oh wait! Open swim ends at 4. We got there at 347, filled out paperwork for a free, seasonal swim pass. You have 5-7 mins and the pool closes. What?!
At least they got showers. For FREE!
Headed to Jedi Alliance. 5.5 hours of pinball and old video game heaven. Some VR playing too, but that was a bit extra.
Headed back to the lodge where ghost stories and 5am bedtimes lead to way too early wake ups at 830 and breakfast of left over pizza, hamburgers, cereal, hot dogs and beagles.
WA State Corp you once again helped make the weekend amazing and that much more fun
It’s official!!
Empire’s first official, post covid, proficient voting member!! Yay Micah, way to go!!!
Obligation #2 done in less than 24 hrs. Way to go Micah
OV weekend has started off with a Dennys gathering, getting to know one another, electronic chess, an epic nerf battle, more bonding with football throwing and the ball going into the neighbor’s yard.
Back inside to play ships and sailors, ninja and Night at the Museum, sleep (barley) and a Continental breakfast.
More to come..
What a great event! We had 3 prospects at our Jedi Alliance event. 2 hrs went by so fast… so many arcade and pinball games. Definitely a place to go again
Curtesy of Mom Hightower, this is some high speed leadership going on…
It’s hard, but someone has to do it

Something to ponder
"According to Psychologists, there are four types of Intelligence:
1) Intelligence Quotient (IQ)
2) Emotional Quotient (EQ)
3) Social Quotient (SQ)
4) Adversity Quotient (AQ)
1. Intelligence Quotient (IQ): this is the measure of your level of comprehension. You need IQ to solve maths, memorize things, and recall lessons.
2. Emotional Quotient (EQ): this is the measure of your ability to maintain peace with others, keep to time, be responsible, be honest, respect boundaries, be humble, genuine and considerate.
3. Social Quotient (SQ): this is the measure of your ability to build a network of friends and maintain it over a long period of time.
People that have higher EQ and SQ tend to go further in life than those with a high IQ but low EQ and SQ. Most schools capitalize on improving IQ levels while EQ and SQ are played down.
A man of high IQ can end up being employed by a man of high EQ and SQ even though he has an average IQ.
Your EQ represents your Character, while your SQ represents your Charisma. Give in to habits that will improve these three Qs, especially your EQ and SQ.
Now there is a 4th one, a new paradigm:
4. The Adversity Quotient (AQ): The measure of your ability to go through a rough patch in life, and come out of it without losing your mind.
When faced with troubles, AQ determines who will give up, who will abandon their family, and who will consider su***de.
Parents please expose your children to other areas of life than just Academics. They should adore manual labour (never use work as a form of punishment), Sports and Arts.
Develop their IQ, as well as their EQ, SQ and AQ. They should become multifaceted human beings able to do things independently of their parents.
Finally, do not prepare the road for your children. Prepare your children for the road."
