Communities In Schools of Spokane County
Our mission is to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school. We also help set students up for college readiness classes.
We connect resources to vulnerable students at targeted schools--this can be as basic as food security or as complex as placing them in a one-on-one relationship with a mentor. By offering the right services to the right students at the right time, we are freeing up the teachers to do what they do best, teach!

Our Story
Homelessness. Hunger. Trauma. Kids bring a lot more to school than you may realize. That’s why our staff is in schools every day, making sure kids get the support and resources they need. We partner with teachers, so what happens outside the classroom doesn’t impact students’ learning inside the classroom. There are millions of at-risk kids who need a caring adult to help them stay in school and succeed in life.
