Because of our volunteers, whole neighborhoods are built or improved, and the lives of families who partner with us are completely transformed. A stable home empowers families to achieve the strength and independence they need to build a better life. In 2023, volunteers contributed over 11,000 hours of their time in the Habitat Store and on the job sites. Our volunteers have helped build over 400 affordable homes!

Veterans Build will attract many community partners during the build process to highlight the need for affordable housing for our nation’s veterans. Wondering what you can donate to the Habitat Store? We accept furniture, appliances, building materials, and home improvement materials! Donations are accepted at the warehouse in the back of the building Tuesday thru Saturday from 9 am - 5 pm. Stay safe in the heat!
The City of Spokane says cooling areas will be available at Spokane Public Library locations or the Trent Resource and Assistance Center (TRAC).
Libraries will be open during regular hours on weekdays. The Central Library will extend hours on the weekend from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Cooling area locations are as follows:

3324 S Perry Street
4909 W Barnes Road
TRAC at 4320 E Trent Avenue
The city says Spokane Transit Authority will also offer fare exceptions for riders going to and from cooling spaces when the temperature is 95 degrees or higher. This remains in effect for same-day return trips during evening hours, even after the temperature drops below 95 degrees.
People seeking relief from the heat can visit Spokane Public Library locations or the Trent Resource and Assistance Center (TRAC).
