π A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Incredible Volunteers! π
Last Friday, we had our annual Volunteer Appreciation celebration, and we were thrilled to see so many of you there, including our amazing board of directors. Though the weather threw a curveball at our original plans, our team quickly adapted, and we had a fantastic party right here at Meals on Wheels Spokane. The A/C was a lifesaver, and our official ice cream man, Dave, definitely stole the show!
Cheers to our incredible partners, Sysco, for providing the delicious fixins' for our BBQ. Grilled burgers and hot dogs, along with all the sides - nobody left this celebration with an empty tummy or heart.
A HUGE thank you to each and every one of you. Without you, we couldn't begin to feed over 600 seniors every day. Without you, our seniors wouldn't have the daily visit, warm smile, and hot meal that mean so much. Together, we are feeding bodies, nurturing souls, and saving lives.

π At Meals on Wheels Spokane, our Care Managers go above and beyond every day to make a difference in the lives of our clients. Here's a heartwarming story from Judy, one of our cherished clients:
Judy, 84 and homebound, recently reached out to us seeking help with an electrical problem. Our Care Manager was quick to refer her to SNAP, and Judy called back today with wonderful news - SNAP is stepping in to assist her! Judy also shared a deeper reflection with us, wondering aloud why she's still here. Our Care Manager was there to uplift and encourage her, reminding Judy of the impact and value she brings to everyone around her.
Judy expressed her gratitude not only for the meals she receives from Meals on Wheels but also for the kindness of our volunteers. She even mentioned a former volunteer who still visits weekly to say hello and lend a helping hand. Now, that's what we call community spirit!
Thank you, Judy, for sharing your story with us. Your resilience and positivity inspire us every day. To all our supporters and volunteers, your contributions truly make a world of difference. Let's continue spreading kindness and making each day brighter for those we serve. β€οΈ
