**Important Pool Update**Pool Closure**

Dear Residents,

Like many of you across the City, the Pool Complex experienced several partial power failures on Tuesday and then at approximately 1:30 AM Wednesday a total failure. Unfortunately the City is not immune to damage, and we experienced mechanical failures and flooding, that will necessitate ENDING this years season just 5 days early.

**Effective today Thursday August 29th, the Pool will be closed for the season.**

Be assured that staff are already in the process of making repairs, so that we are ready to greet you Memorial Weekend 2025!

On behalf of the entire Aquatics Team, I would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude for the amazing summer. We had such a great time getting to know all of you, and we are looking forward to seeing you next season.

🚨Pool Hours for the week of August 26th thru Labor Day🚨

Hello everyone,

College has begun and Lakeview returns to school next week. We will be altering our hours for the final week of summer.

Monday August 26th thru Friday the 30th. We will open from 4:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. for Public Open Swim.

Labor Day Weekend -

Saturday August 31st 10:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M.
Sunday September 1st 10:00 A.M to 9:00 P.M.
Monday September 2nd 1:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M.

The last day for the Pool and Splash Pad will be Monday September 2nd.

Don’t forget this Saturday is the Guns N’ Hoses charity softball game where we take on the St. Clair Shores Firefighters! Let’s be honest, most people aren’t watching the 4th quarter of a preseason game, so turn off the Detroit Lions and bring the family to Kyte Monroe!

Tickets are $5 each and go toward SCS Cops for Kids, the Great Lakes Burn Camp and Women’s Civic League Grant Program.

Three separate Lifeguard saves today. Thanks to quick work by Lifeguards Alexa Kruzel, Key Wade, and Liam Ogden, three of our Residehts will going home safely tonight to their families.

Everyday it’s our job to plan for the unimaginable, while praying that we are there to prevent it.

As summer wraps up, let us remind you to be ever vigilant. It only takes seconds to loose someone you love.

1. Know the Depth of the Water
2. Know the level of your child’s swimming abilities
3. Swim near a Lifeguard when ever possible
4. When in doubt use a U.S. Coast Guard Approved Lifejacket

Friday's Boating Tip -

Did you know while UNDERWAY at NIGHT you must display the following navigational lights:

Port - Red Light
Starboard - Green Light
All Around 360 Degree - White Light

Running with any other lights on while underway is ILLEGAL. All other lights that come with newer boats are meant to be used when at dock or at anchor, but not underway. The Law States your Navigational Lights CAN NOT be obstructed by any other equipment on your boat.

*Only Law Enforcement Vessels may posses Blue Lights on the water.

**UNDERWAY IS DESCRIBED AS ANY TIME YOU ARE NOT AT ANCHOR. Meaning even if you are drifting with your motor off, you are considered to be underway, because you are moving.

***Check your lights before leaving for the day, and always carry a flashlight just incase, so you can use it to get back to shore, or warn off approaching vessels.

Due to the constant thunder in the area, as of 6:50 PM the Pool will be closed until 7:20 PM.

Due to thunderstorm as of 5:00 PM the Pool and Splash Pad will be closed until 5:30 PM.

The Water Aerobics class with Tammy will be cancelled today and rescheduled tomorrow at the same time.

🚨Update as of Tuesday July 23rd - We are still waiting for notification from the manufacturer that parts have shipped. We understand this is disappointing, and we are working hard to resolve the issue.

Splash Pad Repair Update - Veterans Memorial Park

Dear St. Clair Shores Residents,

Many of you have inquired as to why only half of the Splash Pad is currently working. Unfortunately we have suffered an equipment failure, and like most things, it was unexpected. The City has authorized repairs, and the parts and equipment are on order. We appreciate your patience as we work to resolve this.

Our goal is always to have all of our Parks, Programs, and Facilities operating at a 100% a 100% of the time, but unfortunately we also realize that unexpected mechanical failures happen, as well as inclement weather.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you or your families. Check back here for further updates. As soon as repairs are complete we will update this post.

In the mean time, we hope that you will continue to enjoy the many other recreational activities the City has to offer.
