Hello BPDP neighbors, if you have been to the park recently you might have noticed the gate was broken. We are having Houlihan out to repair the gate but this is going to require us to close the park starting tomorrow morning 5/7 starting at ~8:15am. The park should be back up and running on Friday. We apologize for the inconvenience but hope this is the last time we have gate issues for the foreseeable future. 🤞🏻
The gate repair is going to be quite expensive, please consider making a donation here (https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/bentonparkdogpark) or join us in Benton Park for the Mighty Pines Concert on 5/19 from 4-7pm. Half of the beer sales that day will be going back to the dog park.
Thanks so much, BPDP Committee
We are up at Bluewood Brewing raising funds for the dog park. Come check out the merch!
Hi Dog Park friends, there is a BPNA fundraiser and social on Saturday from 3-6 at Bluewood. The committee will be there with some BPDP merch we have from the past few years to raise some money for the park. We’d love if you could stop by and hang for a bit. Come get to know your neighbors!
Check out this awesome event!
The gate has been fixed! The code has not changed however when entering the park please hit the “C” button before typing in the code.
The park is run by volunteers and funded by membership fees and donations. The new lock and hardware was quite expensive - if you’re feeling generous and would like to make a donation we would really appreciate it. Every dollar helps the continuing maintenance of the park. 😊

Please keep an eye out!
Friends and neighbors and friends of Benton Park Dog Park : anybody been looking for, or thinking about adding a new dog to the family? My soon to be sister in law's good friend is regretfully looking to re-home her 10-month-old Great Pyrenees lab mix. She looks much more like a lab and is on track to be about 50 lb full grown. She is great with dogs and kids, but unfortunately the senior dog in her current home and her special needs son are not tolerating her well, and she is being crated most of the day. Her current family is looking for a new loving home for her! She is housebroken and knows all of the basic obedience commands. She comes with a crate, toys, treats, bowls, food, a leash, and everything you would need to get started with a new dog in the house! She's a super snuggle bug and is always happiest next to you on the couch. She loves toys and walks and playing with the kiddos. If you or anybody that you know might be interested in adopting her please reach out to me ASAP! I would be happy to set up a meet and greet with you and her current family. Thanks, friends!!! Please feel free to share!!

Want to be part of a new fun, INFORMAL group that plans our dog park events while hanging out and making new friends? Maybe even make the meetings happy hours? 😉
This group will focus solely on planning fun events. I’m thinking yappy hours and reoccurring events (first Fridays, second Saturdays, small dog/puppy yappy hours so little ones aren’t as intimidated, etc.), restaurant/bar sponsored events, themed events, and whatever else you want.
No pressure to come to all meetings, and you can contribute as much or as little as you want when you do come. It’d be great to have as much involvement as possible so we can have an even more fun, exciting park and build a greater sense of community and engagement.
Since it’s just an aspiration now, it’d be great to have an initial happy hour/meet and greet with everyone who is interested so I can hear your thoughts, get feedback on what I’m thinking, and discuss how often the group wants to meet. No commitment required, just come check it out!
Please comment or send me a message if you’re interested or have any tips/ideas. PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD, and LET’S DO THIS!
Thanks!

Hey, neighbors! Unfortunately, we have to postpone the official dog park happy hour tonight! We're so sorry for the late notice! Keep checking our fb page for updates on a reschedule!!!
Hey guys!!! Turns out the wasp nest inside the dog waste bag station is a yellow jacket nest. Apparently, they are very aggressive and there are a lot of them! They have a small nest inside the waste station at the northwestern corner of the park, but there's also likely a nest underground. We have someone working on it right now and they are going to set some traps tomorrow but please just be very aware of yourself and your dogs near this corner of the park for the next few days.
All the dog bags have been replenished!! The bag station at the northwestern corner of the park has a small little wasp nest inside of it that I was too afraid to mess with so I didn't filll that one with bags. We're working on getting the nest removed but it might be a few days. Thanks everybody for your patience!
Hey, members! We just wanted to let everyone know that we just received a shipment of waste bags yesterday, and will be re-filling them tonight! Thanks for your patience and understanding!!!
We're hosting our first of hopefully many regular dog park happy hours!!! Current members only, please. September 1st from 6:30 -7:30! Come by with your pup, drink some beer, and meet our neighbors! If you aren't a member and want to join, bring with you all of your vaccination records and membership forms and we're happy to have you! We'll have some beer available for a small donation, and it'll be a great way to meet other members! Hope to see you there!
Hey dog park friends! Someone found a couple of sets of keys left on the bench at the dog park just now. Just fyi! Message me if you think they're yours or go grab them!
Hey, dog park fam! I just wanted to let everybody know that we are aware of the issue with the door handle at the dog park. I got a message from one of our members last week about the door sticking. I went up yesterday and checked it out, and everything was working fine! We got another message from another member today that said that the handle came off of the door! I'm not sure what's wrong with the lock or the handle or the door but I just want to let everybody know that we are on top of it! Please feel free to reach out to us if you have any other concerns and thank you for your patience as always!
Hey friends and neighbors! Our excellent neighbors Dane and Tiffany that keep the grass nice for us are going on vacation and we may need a mow in between now and the end of the month. If anybody would be willing or interested to volunteer we would gladly appreciate any help! Please message us if you're interested and helping us out! Thanks so much
