Care and Counseling recently received a grant from Blues for Kids, the charitable trust of the St. Louis Blues! The money will be used to help fund the software needed to run our Student Wellness Program. Just a little over a week until our seminar on Creating and Enforcing Healthy Boundaries in the Social Media Age! This seminar, hosted by Katie VonDeLinde, will explore the new ethical challenges surrounding confidentiality, boundaries, and competency that have been created by social media. VonDeLinde will discuss strategies for increasing therapists’ capacity to create and enforce ethical boundaries in the age of technology and social media. We know that ½ of all mental health illnesses start in childhood. Our Student Wellness Program can help identify kids and teens who need mental health support before the problem gets bigger. By making a donation this Giving Tuesday you will help us reach as many young lives as possible.
In 2021, Care and Counseling offered 2660 sessions through our Client Assistance Fund, serving 133 people who would not otherwise be able to afford therapy. There’s less than a week until our Reconceptualizing the Impact of Childhood Trauma & Neglect seminar! Presented by Sharon Skidmore Stern, this seminar will focus on the importance of understanding the impact that early adversity has on key neurobiological systems in the brain. In doing so, Stern will also discuss the concepts and practice applications of the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics. This seminar will take place from 10:30am–11:45am on Wednesday, November 9th. Care and Counseling is excited to announce our 2022-2023 Psychotherapy Enrichment Program (PEP) Courses! The PEP program is designed for post-graduate counselors to continue forming and practicing their clinical skills. Classes are held in person from 8-10:15am on Wednesday mornings.
