🩰 We LOVE our littlest dancers at the Barton & Williams School of Dance! CLASSES FOR THE 2024-2025 DANCE YEAR START THE WEEK OF AUGUST 12!

We have a wonderful and fun yet very structured dance program for our youngest dancers at B&W incorporating basic ballet and jazz techniques and terminology, gross motor skill development, age appropriate strength and stretching and learning to memorize choreography to age appropriate songs. All taught by very experienced and nurturing teachers who love this age of dancers. 💕

Classes are 45 minutes long. Cost is $56.00 per month with a once per year $60.00 registration fee. (5 year olds and up are hour long classes -SCHEDULE AND PRICES FOR ALL AGES IN THE COMMENTS)

These wonderful little dancers perform in our huge end of year production with all ages 3-Adult.

FALL DANCE REGISTRATION STARTS FRIDAY, JULY 26! Current students will receive the schedule via email Thursday night.

New students can email [email protected] to request an account to register online.

Priority on full classes will be given first to current summer students and recital volunteers, then all other current students and then new students. However everyone can request their classes immediately as the system keeps track of the order of registrations. Hoping all get their first choice of days and times!

Chris is currently enjoying a successful dance career in L.A. and we are so excited for this opportunity for our dancers while he is visiting our area again!

Chris choreographed many of our top scoring competition routines when he worked for us years ago before heading to L.A. See clips of a few in the comments. Look in the videos for our current hip hop teacher, Ms Leah, who grew up dancing at B&W and learned so much from Chris!

🤸 💃 SUMMER ACRO WORKSHOP!!

We are excited to announce we have hired a new Acro teacher, Claryssa Griffin, to teach Acro at Barton & Williams in the fall!! Claryssa has an extensive background in both dance and tumbling and will be incorporating tumbling skills into dance routines. These classes will be included in our end of year recital. (Claryssa’s bio is in the comments).

Additionally, Claryssa will be teaching a fun SUMMER ACRO WORKSHOP on Saturday, July 20th. This is a great opportunity to get to try an Acro class and get to know Ms. Claryssa! Ms. Claryssa will be bringing her AIR TRACK to Barton & Williams. She will teach an acro dance combination after drilling skills.

REMINDER!! Barton & Williams TROUPE AUDITIONS ARE THIS SATURDAY, JUNE 8. (advanced company auditions have already happened). PLEASE ENTER THROUGH BACK DOOR TO ROOM C!

Schedule below:

1PM…6-7 years old to include current Tiny Troupe. Must have at least one year of dance training.

2PM…8-9 year olds to include current Tiny Petite Troupe members. We will be doing both a jazz and lyrical dance and combinations for both will be included in the audition.

3:30PM…9-12 year olds to include current Petite and Mini Troupes. Both of these troupes will be doing both a jazz and lyrical dance. There will be both a jazz and lyrical combination included in this audition.

Those in the three oldest troupes will be eligible for an OPTIONAL Large Group. This will involve another costume, competition entry fees and tuition for the class.

Competition teams are a great learning experience, wonderful camaraderie and just so much fun! There are costs involved-costume, entry fees, tuition-so please consider that before auditioning.

Hi everyone, I got an email today from Hannah Wolfe at the SERVE food pantry. With kids out of school and not getting school breakfast and lunch they are totally out of some staple food items so are reaching out for help.

If you have any of these requested items still in date that you can contribute I will have a tub at the studio on Saturday, June 8 Noon-4:30PM.

If you feel led to drop things off at SERVE before then the address is 15 Upton Lane, Stafford, 22554. It’s off Rt 1 across from the Courthouse.

PS if buying jelly please get the kind without high fructose corn syrup in it if possible.

The booster club would like to send a huge thank you to TREY TALBOT for providing an Outback dinner to our company dancers. We can’t thank you enough for taking such great care of our dancers feeding them such an amazing spread of delicious food.

Also to Ms. Nancy Dwyer Blassman for organizing with Trey and setting it all up! Everyone is so appreciative of such a delicious meal in between the last shows! Thank you for your volunteer work as well!

And just like that our end of year BALLET AROUND THE WORLD 🩰 and GUYS AND DOLLS 💃🕺🏿production is done closing out the 2023-2024 dance year.

The dancers did an AMAZING job-such talented hard working children, teens and adults! So grateful for our wonderful, creative and positive role model staff! Forever grateful to all the parent volunteers/backstage crew. And our treasured adm staff. The moms who sit with the littles in the back are our HEROS!!! They take such good care of these children!!! It does indeed take a village to make this positive experience for these kids and the community.

🎲 June 1, 2024 - Our first show last night went GREAT and we are all super excited for today’s 3PM and 7PM shows! What an enthused audience! The dancers loved it!!

To those that come early to get in line (auditorium doors open a half hour before the shows) our rental agreement with the school doesn’t start until 1:30PM so even our staff can’t come in before that. So we will just be setting up then.

And so it begins!!!! TECH REHEARSAL DAY! In regular dance clothes, not costumes, with teachers able to help with any adjustments needed onstage (that’s what takes so long). Long but important for putting on the best show. See you there!
