Juneteenth commemorates the emancipation of the enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas on June 19, 1865.

The Greater Rappahannock (VA) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated was founded to enrich, sustain, and ensure the culture and economic survival of African Americans and persons of African ancestry within our community. We are pleased to announce our annual scholarship search where we award a total of six $2,000 scholarships to African-American students matriculating to a 2-year or 4-year college or university.

Four scholarships, in the amount of $2000 each, will be awarded to four outstanding African American students in our service area.
The Sandra Holland King Education Scholarship in the amount of $2,000 will be given to a student majoring in the field of education and a student attending a Historically Black College or University (HBCU) will be awarded a scholarship in the amount of $2,000, for a total of six non-renewable scholarships.

The 2023 scholarship application can be completed at the below link between 1/1/23 and 3/31/23.

Our National Weekend of Service and Impact continues today as we observe National Donor Sabbath. Throughout our service areas, the National Linkages to Life program leads Donor Sabbath efforts to raise awareness about the need for organ, eye, bone marrow and tissue donation particularly in the Black community. It is the greatest gift one can ever give.
