Pomp, circumstance, contract negotiations?
Faculty at Delta College announced they would be boycotting the May 16 Commencement ceremony due to stalled contract negotiations with the district. The announcement came via a press release emailed several hours before the ceremony was scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.

Today we published a special report looking at multiple semesters worth of public documents from Delta College that were requested initially in September and started being delivered in April.
The reporting is on Delta's continued violation of the "67 percent rule," which informs how part-time faculty are scheduled.

Delta College announced last night that Area 5 Trustee Kathy Garcia has stepped down from her seat on the Board of Trustees. Garcia, who represents East Stockton and parts of Calaveras County, was being sued by the district to remove her from the seat due to holding incompatible public offices. A lawsuit accusing Delta College Area 5 Trustee Kathleen Garcia of simultaneously holding two public offices in violation of California Government Code 1099 has been filed.
Last semester we reported on Delta College seek permission from the California Attorney General's Office to sue Board Member Kathleen Garcia for holding two conflicting public offices. This is a follow up to that story.

On Saturday, 14 Oct, Collegian Staff attended the 2023 JACC NorCal Journalism Conference at San Francisco State University. Collegian won several individual awards, including General Excellence for Print Edition.

He is a long time colleague of our professor, Tara Cuslidge- Staiano, they had worked together at the Stockton Record.
He visited our classroom today to speak about his work with Stocktonia, a non-profit news outlet that covers Stockton’s local news.
Stocktonia has recently announced a paid internship on job speaker that is open to entry level journalists with multimedia and writing background.
