Growing Minds. Creating Futures.
Education offers hope. We believe that all children, regardless of their economic circumstances, deserve access to quality educational opportunities. We believe that parents should have an opportunity to choose the best school for their children. We believe that with choice comes a sense of ownership and involvement. The Northwest Ohio Scholarship Fund, Inc. is committed to offering educational choices to low-income families through privately funded scholarships.
In 1999, a miracle began to happen in Northwest Ohio. Over 800 qualifying youngsters learned that they had been awarded scholarships to the non-public school of their choice. For these children and their families, this scholarship was a step out of poverty, a new chance—and a gift of hope.
Since then, the Northwest Ohio Scholarship Fund (NOSF) has been able to award tuition assistance to over 15,400 low-income K-8 children throughout Lucas, Wood and Fulton counties. Starting in 2015-2016, the program expanded to 19 counties in Northwest Ohio. Over $13.2 million has been awarded, and the results have been dramatic! 100% of NOSF scholarship recipients have graduated from a four-year high school (based on a survey of 2010 alumni), and 95% have attended some college.
The Northwest Ohio Scholarship Fund is part of the Children's Scholarship Fund (CSF) national network of scholarship granting organizations. CSF and its partner programs are committed to empowering families in need with the ability to choose the K-8 schools that best meet their children's needs, regardless of their ability to pay or where they live.
