This week's alumni highlight features Ethan Achten! 🐾🎙
Ethan graduated from Lourdes in May 2024 with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management and Business Administration. He was a college bowler during his time at Lourdes.
Ethan has been working with the Toledo Mud Hens and Walleye for almost four years. Ethan started as an intern during his freshman year and has held various positions, including Merchandise Supervisor, Mascot Performer, Promotions Lead, Clubhouse Assistant, Podcast Host, and is now in his second season as a PA Announcer for the Toledo Mud Hens. He is very thankful for his experiences at Lourdes, which have helped him pursue his dreams in the sports industry.

Aaron Iffland, REALTOR® with the Estep Group, is a dedicated professional with a background that uniquely blends a passion for serving others and a deep-rooted love for his community.
With a Bachelor's degree in Business Marketing from Lourdes University, Aaron's expertise in technology and client service is unparalleled. As a portrait photographer and a previous bank professional, Aaron's diverse skill set equips him with the ability to create efficient systems and prioritize client needs effectively.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Aaron's personal life is a testament to his values of loyalty, humility, and service. Married to his wife Abby and raising two beautiful children, August and Adelynn, Aaron finds joy in family time, exploring local eateries, and staying active in his community through church involvement and leadership.
Driven by his motto of "Walk by faith, not by sight," Aaron approaches his real estate career with a genuine desire to help clients "pursue the purpose of home." This week's alumni spotlight features Mark Oehlers. 🐺🐾
Mark graduated from Lourdes University in 2014 with both a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and a Bachelor of Science in Human Resources Management. Demonstrating a commitment to furthering his education and professional expertise, Mark went on to earn his MBA from Lourdes in 2021.
Starting his career at Dana Incorporated in 2015, Mark quickly rose through the ranks. Initially serving as a Human Resources Associate within the Light Vehicle Division, he then transitioned to the role of Human Resources Associate of Labor Relations in 2016. By October of the same year, Mark was promoted to Human Resources Manager of Dana's manufacturing facility in Robinson, IL. His exemplary performance led to another advancement in 2018, when he became the Labor Relations Manager back at Dana's World Headquarters in Maumee, OH.
In 2019, Mark took on a new challenge as Human Resources Manager at Great Dane, their largest manufacturing facility located in Brazil, IN. His strategic vision and leadership skills were soon recognized, and since 2021, he has been serving as the Regional Human Resources Manager. In this capacity, Mark oversees numerous manufacturing facilities across the United States, driving strategic excellence in human resources practices and contributing to the company's growth and success.

This week's alumni highlight features Tom Zeller. Tom is the Director of Audience and Digital Initiatives at The Blade in Toledo, Ohio. With a career spanning over two decades in digital media and audience development, Tom has been instrumental in driving The Blade's online presence and engagement strategies. Under his leadership, The Blade has expanded its digital footprint, fostering a vibrant and growing community of readers in northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan.
Tom's expertise lies in leveraging data-driven insights to optimize content delivery and audience interaction. He is passionate about enhancing user experiences and implementing innovative digital solutions that resonate with diverse audiences. As a visionary leader, Tom continually adapts to the evolving media landscape, ensuring The Blade remains at the forefront of digital journalism.
Tom is a proud 2008 alumnus of Lourdes University and holds an MBA from the University of Illinois. His academic background has provided a strong foundation for his professional achievements and leadership in the digital media landscape.
In addition to his role at The Blade, Tom serves as a trustee on the Board of the Ohio News Media Association (ONMA), where he contributes to the advancement of the news media industry in Ohio.
An avid supporter of Manchester United football and US Soccer, Tom also enjoys spending time with his family. Married with three adult children, he balances his dynamic career with his love for sports and family life.

This week's features Jamie Kleinfelter, who graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in History in May 2023. Throughout his tenure at Lourdes, Jamie was actively involved in various roles at the Den, served as a Resident Assistant, led the summer moving crew, and efficiently handled responsibilities as a mail sorter. In addition to these involvements, Jamie dedicated two years to the chorale and played a vibrant role in Campus Ministry, contributing to the success of numerous events. One highlight of Jamie's college experience was his participation in the Spring Break Habitat for Humanity Mission Trip to South Carolina in 2022.
Because of the time he spent working in housing and residence life, Jamie was inspired to pursue a career in that field. In November, Jamie accepted the position of Community Director at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. Commencing his role on January 2 of this year, Jamie has been warmly welcomed into the Wright State community.
As a first-generation college graduate, Jamie aspires to positively impact students. In the future, he aims to further his education by pursuing a Master of Education in Student Affairs Higher Education Administration from Wright State University. Ultimately, Jamie envisions becoming a Director of Residence Life. Congratulations, Jamie!

This week's features Jared Huiskens! 🐾
Jared, a former Lacrosse player for Lourdes, currently holds the position of Lead Small Mammal Keeper at Toledo Zoo. He is responsible for performing and overseeing a variety of duties related to animal husbandry and the maintenance of exhibits in the small mammals department. Jared is actively engaged in behavioral training with the animals within his department and conducts research studies. A personal goal of his is to conduct a study in Brazil, specifically on Pied Tamarins, and bring that knowledge back to the Toledo Zoo, where he dedicates considerable time to focusing on the breeding program for the species.
Beyond his work at the zoo, Jared is one of the owners of Pin Oak Prints, a business specializing in shirt printing and offering leather laser engraving services to businesses, organizations, and clubs seeking apparel production. Together with his wife Kate, who also graduated from Lourdes, Jared continually seeks investment opportunities to expand their portfolio. Congratulations, Jared!
