The final concert for the TCC Symphonic Band in the 2023-24 academic year! The program, Explorations, includes exciting and innovative music that leads the listener through a journey across places real and imagined.
The world premiere of "No Intelligent Life" is a centerpiece of the concert. Composer Piero Ramirez is a TCC graduate, and composition major at PLU. His work tells the story of a UFO visiting earth, and prominently features a theremin in the performance.
This concert is FREE (donations encouraged).

Dr. Jie is the featured piano soloist, and will perform Tchaikovsky’s epic Piano Concerto No. 1.

The Symphonic Band will perform a world premiere of Piero Ramirez’s No Intelligent Life - a tone poem for band about a UFO visiting Earth. Piero earned an Associate of Music Degree from TCC, and is currently studying music at PLU.

May 18th, Saturday, from 11 AM to 4 PM
This event is open to the public, not just students and faculty!
This year's event focuses on student artists, offering them a platform to display and sell their work.
Additionally, clubs including The Black Student Union and Phi Theta Kappa will be fundraising for their causes.
Alongside amazing artists, enjoy food for sale, free face painting, meet-and-greets with princesses, and a possible visit from Renaissance fair performers.
Join us on May 18th, Saturday, from 11 AM to 4 PM at Tacoma Community College, Building 20, Health and Wellness Center.
