Have some extra diapers in any size? Bring them to the front desk at the Children’s Museum of Tacoma, and we’ll make sure that they go to the families that need them!

On Monday, February 19, the Children’s Museum of Tacoma will be open to the public from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.! With school out for the day, all families are welcome to come in and play on their favorite playscapes, create art in the Studio, and more while enjoying Pay As You Will Admission.
Don’t miss the fun, low sensory music experiences provided by the Northwest Sinfonietta at the Children’s Museum of Tacoma this Thursday, February 15!
Children will enjoy a fun and interactive program of classical and popular music with a string quartet from Northwest Sinfonietta, an instrument petting zoo, and a Q&A in two performances on February 15, from 10:30 – 11:15 a.m. and again from 11:45 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Play builds friendships! National Make a Friend Day on February 11 is the perfect opportunity to come play at the Children’s Museum, meet someone new and make a friend. Stop by Becka's Studio this week, where you can find a plethora of supplies to make a card for your new friend!
Play helps your child learn to share space, materials and ideas with others, and engaging in play with other families expands your community of support.
Friday’s SPARKS Workshop is for creating collaged hearts! Stop by Becka’s Studio Friday from 10 – 11:30 a.m. to participate in creative activities and take home your own lovely craft project.

This friendly face is Gnarkles, who champions Pay As You Will Admission for the Children's Museums of Tacoma and at JBLM! The original Gnarkles sculpture was created by artist Ben Brown and donated to the Children’s Museum of Tacoma in 2009, and his name was selected after the Museum hosted a contest open to members, staff, and the general public.

Bubbles are fun by themselves, but did you know that you can create a print with bubbles too? Pop by the Children’s Museum of Tacoma for Friday’s SPARKS Workshop from 10 – 11: 30 a.m. to learn about bubble printing and create your very own piece of art to take home!
Circles, hearts and squares, oh my! February’s Sparks theme is “Shapes,” and we’ll be jumpstarting our imaginations as we turn ordinary shapes into extraordinary shapes in each workshop.
This Friday from 10 – 11:30 a.m., join us for bubble printing, where we'll blow bubbles in paint and pull a print before they pop!

Tomorrow is Sparks Day at the Children's Museum of Tacoma! We'll be exploring Popping Paper crafts in the Studio and exploring how 2D paper can be used to create 3D surfaces. No registration is needed, and as always, admission is Pay As You Will, with all donations greatly appreciated. We're excited to see you there!

Families listened to stories that were told by the wonderful Teacher Alycia, and made their own colorful Dream Clouds. These activities were inspired by the words of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and we hope that all of our friends will continue to follow their dreams to become changemakers in their communities.
Join us for STEAM Night at South Tacoma Library on Wednesday, January 24 from 4 – 5:30 p.m.! Families are invited to participate in educational, hands-on activities that test out science, technology, engineering, art, and math concepts, made possible through the support of Tacoma Creates and Greentrike's partnership with Tacoma Public Libraries.
The Children’s Museum of Tacoma will be open to the public on Monday, January 15, to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day!
With Monday being such an incredibly special day, we would also like to offer families some special activities during our open hours, including story times at 11 a.m., 12 p.m., and 1 p.m., and a dream cloud activity inspired by the words of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., which painted a picture of equality and unification. How will you be inspired by this important historical figure and follow your dream to become a changemaker in your community? What is your dream?
As always, admission will be Pay As You Will, and no registration or sign up is needed for the activities. These activities are made possible through Pay As You Will donors as well as the support of Tacoma Creates, which makes this event available for visitors at the Children’s Museum of Tacoma.
