IMPORTANT LAW UPDATE: Governor Scott has vetoed the alimony reform bill yet again but this time only citing issues with the 50/50 timesharing presumption which was part of it. This gives us hope that if the alimony reform bill is proposed again without the timesharing provision it may get passed eventually so we can have some more specific guidelines regarding how much alimony can be awarded in divorce cases.
