We want to take a moment to show our gratitude to our past CEO for her service and leadership at AzPA. We wish her the best on her new endeavor and we will still see her around at AzPA. ❤️

A graduate of the Toledo College of Pharmacy, Kelly Fine made the move from Ohio to Arizona in 2001 and has had a lasting impact ever since. She has served in several leadership positions including Clinical Pharmacy Manager and Residency Program Director, but she always gave back to the profession with her involvement with AzPA including taking the helm as President in 2010-2011. When the time came to select a new CEO for the organization, the board did not have to look far for a leader who was capable, driven, and determined. In 2011, Kelly stepped into the CEO role taking AzPA to new heights. Under her guidance and leadership, AzPA and our profession achieved the following milestones:
· Legislative authority for Immunizations and Collaborative practice
· Led AzPA’s COVID-19 responsiveness, coordinating messaging with all national, state, local partners.
· Stopped State Bill 1060-that would have forced pharmacists to fill all off-label prescriptions
· Stopped the implementation of USP 797/800 in AZ with the help of of the legal team from Boesen and Snow Law
· Under her guidance AzPA created five AzPA owned Certificate Training Programs (IMZ, Anticoagulation, Psychiatric, Pain Management, Motivational Interviewing)
· Secured a now $1.5M Naloxone Grant to support Arizona communities severely impacted by the opioid epidemic
· Obtained Blue Cross Blue Shield Provider Status for reimbursement of pharmacy clinical services

AzPA has partnered with the Maricopa County Department of Public Health (), to bring Stop Overdose Deaths Arizona, or SODAz, to life. The goal of this partnership is to increase the accessibility of nasal Naloxone to everyone through community pharmacies and reduce overdose deaths by educating the public on the lifesaving effects of naloxone and diminish stigma’s related to substance use disorder.

As healthcare providers, we know how important access to life-saving medications like naloxone is - FOLLOW US! We'll point you in the direction of FREE Naloxone kits, along with resources and education to ensure the public has the knowledge and tools to combat this epidemic.

March 20th was our annual Pharmacy Day at the Capitol!

We had over 100 pharmacy professionals including pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and pharmacy students from all three Arizona colleges of pharmacy!

Everyone helped to educate our legislators on the pharmacy profession.
