I have been practicing Pilates since 1996 and was certified with Core Dynamics Pilates in 2005 by Michele Larsson. I teach individuals of all ages, levels and abilities from post-rehab to Olympic Gold Medalists and professional athletes. I am now also certified in Fascial Stretch Therapy, which can facilitate incredible improvement in the flexibility of fascia, joints, muscles and connective tissues.

Today I stretched a gentleman who questioned my technique, wondering if he didn't feel pain and intensity during the stretch, how could it be working? My response... Stretch to Win In 2008, a local television station where I live agreed to tell my story about a phenomenon I noticed with some of my clients receiving a manual therapy and bodywork technique called Fascial Stretch Therapy (FST). They reported having more and even better s*x than before receiving FST.
I often say, we are only issued one body to last us a whole lifetime. So far, they have not figured out a way to grow us a new one, so we have to take care of the one we’ve got. Is your regimen of self-care proactive or reactive. Proactive care means you do things to prevent problems down the road. You change your diet before a health problem arises… or start an exercise program to maintain muscle and bone before you start to lose it. You make choices that are consistent with your future goals. Reactive, means you change your habits after you start having a problem. You are trying to backtrack to a previous state of wellness. Neither one is wrong, and I suspect we all use both proactive and reactive solutions in different areas of our health. Fascial Stretch Therapy is both. Not only can it be used to improve the internal structure of your connective tissues to prevent problems, but it can also be used to improve conditions that have already manifested. So, whether you are wanting to prevent pain and injury, or you are hoping to improve a painful condition, FST can help to get you there!
Fascial Stretch Therapy makes your swing swingier and your step springier! What’s your game? Running, cycling, golf, tennis, weight lifting, climbing, getting out of bed in the morning… ? All activities require adequate range of motion and free movement of the joints. Oh, I know you stretch (at least, I hope you do), but unless you stretch your whole system of joints and connective tissue, you are cutting yourself short of valuable range of motion and movement efficiency! The thing is, static stretching just doesn’t work that well. It takes a long time to achieve the smallest improvements, and often, it is pretty uncomfortable. FST is a painless system of dynamic movements your Certified Fascial Stretch Therapist takes your body through, to open your joints (over 40% of tightness is in the joints), stretch all angles of your muscle fibers (muscle fibers are not in a straight line), and release the fascia (connective tissue that holds all of you together… over 40% of tightness is also in the fascia) so that there is nothing standing in the way of your optimal performance. Just think, if you are not properly opening your joints, and not addressing the tightness in your fascia, you are ROBBING YOURSELF of 80% of your potential flexibility!
