Although March is only halfway through, with our grant program wrapping up its final year, we held our last Student Cohort Meeting earlier today. and the coordinator reflected on what they enjoyed about the NRT experience, and agreed that the , and , and were the most appreciated - and would be the most missed, once the program ends.

This morning some members of the program joined ASU School of Computing and Augmented Intelligence to at Feed My Starving Children. Music played while teams worked on assembly lines to hand-pack , , dried , and into bags which are then sealed, boxed, placed on pallets, and shipped around the world. Together, the group packed 141 boxes filled with 30,456 meals, which will feed 83 kids a daily meal for one year!

The hybrid 2023 NSF occurred earlier this week, hosted at Arizona State University by the NRT project on Design and Manufacturing of Medical Devices. The 2.5 day conference consisted of great breakout sessions, panels, discussion groups, poster presentations, social events, excursions, and networking opportunities for Program Officers and P*s, Co-P*s, , coordinators, and evaluators! What an amazing Annual Meeting!

This afternoon, and student Abbie Dirks successfully her Master’s , “Access to Food in a Severe Prolonged Disruption: The Case of Grocery and Meal Shopping During the COVID-19 Pandemic.” Her research aims to identify and less adaptable groups in the context of during the COVID-19 pandemic, and makes suggestions for how social programs can better help such populations. Abbie graduates this Spring with her MS degree in Civil, Environmental, and Sustainable Engineering. , Abbie!
