To say Murphy hit the jackpot is an understatement.. He scored a super awesome Mom! Congratulations Murphy!! Happy Furever! ❤️ 🐾 🏡
Hi, my name is Murph! I am 1 year old, weigh about 57 lbs. and my foster mom says I am a love bug! Before I was rescued, I came from a situation where I lived outside with lots of dogs competing for food and attention. We all lived as a group and had very little socialization. I was extremely shy and scared when I was rescued, but I am making huge strides towards coming out of my shell!
I am currently living with another dog, 2 cats and 2 tortoises! My foster brother is showing me that people are safe and love me! I love car rides, but I'm still a little leery of the outside world. I am told I walk nicely on a leash right by your side. I am nervous while I walk with you, but I am willing to go along. I am a good boy in the house, not destructive and I am house trained!
I am looking for an adult family who is willing to take the time to help me learn how to have the best life! I do so love to be with my people and am hoping for someone patient and kind who will just love me back. Small children might scare me, but I am good with other dogs and cats.
If it sounds like I could fit into your family, please contact your family rep. I will be a good boy and wait for you to find me!
Foster pup update!
Please note, Murphy is NOT yet available for adoption. Please no adoption inquiries yet.
Murphy is one of the hoarder dogs that we took into rescue. He came to his foster mom very scared and did not trust anyone. His foster mom however saw that Murphy really wanted to be a family pup. With lots of patience, love and hard work Murphy is now the happy confident pup that his foster Mom saw to begin with. ❤️ 🐾
Our dedicated volunteer foster families save lives every time they open their homes and hearts to a homeless animal. Fostering is a wonderful opportunity to volunteer together as a family or care for a pet without a long-term adoption commitment. It is even more important these days when the shelters are overflowing with animals. Please sign up to be a foster so we can take in more dogs. We promise you, it is a very rewarding experience.
We cover ALL the costs related to fostering a dog (food, supplies, medicals) and we offer the support of a foster team to guide you all through the process.
If you are willing to open your heart to a dog in need, please submit an application here: https://www.sclrr.org/rescue/volunteer/foster/
If you have any questions regarding the process, please feel free to ask but you can read the FAQ at the link above as well.
Here are few of the most recent dogs we brought in this past weeks.
Just a friendly reminder.
We hope you have a fun and safe 4th of July! and please keep your furry family members safe..
Chrissy wants to thank everyone that donated and send her good wishes! We are grateful for all the support. She is getting lots of rest at her foster mom's home.
Our incredible boy Benson has been waiting for 2 months for his furever family. But he is waiting with a sweet smile on his face. Please contact your family rep if you would love to meet him!

Meet Ezra! Isn’t he cute?? He’s now available for adoption!
Hello families! My name is Ezra and I'm petite 8 month old chocolate Labrador weighing 33 lbs. I will grow, I promise! I was an owner turn in due to my family moving out of state. Sadly they couldn't take me with them, so they called the nice people at SCLRR.
I currently live with two other dogs, Lucy (SCLRR alum who is 8 years old) and Piper, a Chiweenie, who is 15 years old. Lucy and I like to play, ruff and tumble and tug of war with toys- hmm Piper just watches yet I don't bother or chase her.
Since I am young, I need an active family like my foster parents. I need exercise and playing and chasing my toys. I also should be crated if left alone. My foster mom says I am a little thief! I pick up shoes and stuff and leave them around the house. I've only destroyed a few, but my foster Mom says it was her fault for leaving things on the floor!
I know a few commands like sit and stay! I love being around my humans and would enjoy another dog to show me the ropes.
I love just being next to you and following you around- no privacy when I'm around! I rarely bark! I mean only when sirens go off or the doorbell rings in the house or on TV, which seems reasonable to me!
The best thing is I am very well behaved! I have never had an accident in the house! I get excited when being fed, yet I know to sit and wait for my meals.
I have been to a few restaurants and have behaved like a perfect gentleman. Even all the office staff and the Veterinarian said what a handsome and well behaved boy I am! If I'm your guy, call your SCLRR Representative ASAP!
A big congratulations to Delbert and his new family on his recent adoption!!❤️

Have you heard the good news?
One of Amazon’s current best sellers, The Faces of Rescue, is partnering with SCLRR beginning TODAY in order to raise money for our organization and help us with our intake of labs, their medical needs, and additional resources.
The Faces of Rescue is a book that was created by a former rescue director and professional photographer who spent the entire year of 2020 working hard to save over 1,000 animals during the pandemic. Over 200 of these animals are featured (with many of their stories included) in full-size hi-resolution images that make for a beautiful gift, coffee table book, or even something to download to your phone to view any time you’d like.
Between now and June 30, SCLRR will receive 10% from the sale of ANY version of The Faces of Rescue.
