Happy National Girl Scouts Day! Emma has been rocking her cookie business this year by spending 4 hours each weekend posting up at local businesses and trying to sell cookies. Her troop's mascot is the "Axolotl" which is that awesome costume she and her fellow scouts wear at each cookie booth.
This has been a great opportunity for her to get out in the community and learn basic skills of communicating with potential cookie buyers and running a small business. (She has to market, keep track of inventory and handle money). Emma has sold 345 boxes so far!

The 2023 Holiday Half 5k race for the Piwowarski family is in the record books! A super soggy day turned out fun and exciting as Jake and Emma raced towards the finish line with parents chasing behind.

On the night before the biggest over-eating holiday of the year, we decided to run as a family (in the freezing cold!) the 2023 Turkey Trot at Portland International Raceway. Jake (10) and Emma (8) ran the entire 5k and came in well above average for their age group.
Fun fact: Jake MISSED a turnoff and accidentally ran 4 MILES instead of 3.1 miles. He's a rockstar!
