This morning the Vienna Police Department had a swearing in ceremony for Jalen King - the Department's newest Patrolman. Jalen's hiring brought the VPD to full staff.

The Vienna Police Department is excited for the start of warm weather and summer break for school-age citizens. Now that summer break has started, please be more cautious as you travel through Vienna. The Vienna Police Department wants our citizens to realize that bicycle and scooter safety is a must to keep our children safe. Parents, please assist us in educating your children on the proper use of safety equipment and obeying traffic laws. The Vienna Police Department wants everyone to have a fun but most importantly safe summer break.

Monday the City of Vienna had a swearing in ceremony for the new Chief of Police, Carl Powell. He served in the United States Air Force from 1995 until 2005. He was hired into the Vienna Police Department in April, 2005 and has served in many capacities through the years. Monday he added Chief of Police to his resume. Congratulations, Chief Powell!
He replaces Mike Pifer, who has been with the Vienna Police Department a little over 26 years. Have fun on your next adventure!

Derick Paul Fore, 50 of 403 Central Avenue Williamstown absconded from home confinement last night and is currently wanted on escape charges
Mr. Fore had been released from jail and placed on home confinement while awaiting court proceedings from a June 2023 indictment for strangulation, malicious assault, kidnapping, sexual abuse in the first degree, and attempted sexual assault in the first degree.
Mr. Fore is approximately 6'-1", 220lbs with hazel eyes and brown hair. and tattoos on his arms, chest, back, and neck. If anyone has any information as to the location of Mr.Fore please call 911.
OPERATION BLUE SKY 2024
Local law enforcement agencies will once again participate in a blue light procession to honor all officers who made the ultimate sacrifice while protecting the ones they serve.
On Saturday, May 11th, at 8:30pm the procession will start from Marietta and travel to Belpre, Parkersburg, Vienna, and Williamstown in their honor. While in Vienna, the procession will come through on Rt. 14 (Grand Central Ave) from Parkersburg and go north on Grand Central toward Williamstown.
Thank you M.O.V. for the support that you provide our law enforcement. When the officers see people clapping and waiving along the route, it is a great reminder that you stand with us. Thank you!
Today the Vienna Police Department promoted two of our own. Josh Cole was promoted from Sergeant to Lieutenant, and Brian Ingraham was promoted from Lieutenant to Captain. Congratulations to you both!

The City of Vienna is happy to announce that the Vienna PD has hired Todd Davis as Civilian Criminal Investigator/Evidence Technician. Todd served PPD in many capacities for 24 years, served as the Homeless Outreach Coordinator for Parkersburg for a year, and was the LE Liaison at Magistrate Court for the last couple of years. Welcome Todd!

UPDATE: Resident from 2600 block of 14th ave in vienna reported: about 6:10am (WEDNESDAY 4/10/24) and heard a motor coming. it was a white one similar to yours but; too dark to tell. he did not have lights on and came around the apartments very fast, ran the stop sign there, ran the stop sign at 27th street, and then the stop sign at 28th street making a right turn. it sounded like it went toward jackson park.
From Me, - So this timeline is right - if this is my machine, it was driven away, not trailered, and is likely hidden somewhere in Vienna. Remember, any report that leads to a recovery is good for the reward. KEEP AN EYE OUT PLEASE! THANKS, JIM.

The 26th National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is Saturday, April 27, 2024 - 10AM to 2PM.
