Voters in Congressional District 20 will receive a ballot for the May 21 Congressional District 20 Special General Election.

Voters in Congressional District 20 will receive a second ballot for the March 19 Congressional District 20 Special Primary Election. These ballots are being mailed this week, and the official ballot return envelope will be green.

The March 5 Presidential Primary Election official ballot return envelope are purple.

Voters should complete and return ballots for each election separately.

In accordance with Elections Code Section 13112, our office will hold a random alphabet drawing to determine the order of State Assembly candidates on the March 5, 2024 Election ballot.

There will be a Nomination Candidate Filing Extension for a couple offices on the March 5, 2024 Presidential Primary ballot. The filing deadline is extended due to an incumbent not filing nomination papers by the initial December 8, 2023 deadline.

Did you know that there are over 44,000 voters in Tulare County registered as No Party Preference or registered with an unqualified party?

All voters registered as No Party Preference or with an unqualified party received this postcard in the mail. That means the voter is registered to vote without a political party and will NOT have any presidential candidates listed on their ballot. These voters can request a cross-over ballot to vote for one of these party’s presidential candidates:
-American Independent
-Democratic
-Libertarian

Because the political parties get to decide if they will allow No Party Preference voters to vote in their presidential primary.

If No Party Preference or unqualified party voters want to vote for Republican, Green, or Peace & Freedom party presidential candidates, the voter must re-register to vote with that party.

Voters registered with a political party can only vote for that party’s presidential candidates and must re-register if they wish to vote in another party’s presidential primary election.

September 14, 2023 will be the first day all candidates may begin gathering signatures in lieu of the filing fee for the March 5, 2024 Presidential Primary Election.

Petition forms may be picked up at our new location at 5300 W. Tulare Avenue, Suite 105 in Visalia. Our office hours are Monday to Thursday 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM and Fridays from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
