Tell us about your family! (Names, ages, interests, etcâŚ)
âMatthew and I have been married 9 years. Matt enjoys strategy games and gardening, while I love to paint and read books. Our kids are silly and compassionate, the best combination! As a family we love to be in the mountains and play strategy board games.â
What is the biggest personal challenge youâve faced since becoming a mom?:
âFiguring out how to let God deal with me and my âbaggageâ so I donât unload it on my kids and family. My husband is not a therapist and my kids donât deserve to be collateral damage to my own issues!â
What advice or encouragement would you like to share with other moms?:
âBreath In. Breath Out. Take each moment as it comes, exactly as it is, and as the great Anna said, âJust do the next right thing.â Sometimes the ânext right thingâ is to just recognize the moment your in right now and ask the Holy Spirit to be in it with you.â
Meet our MOPS Mentor Mom Coordinator, Kathy Prewitt!

What is the biggest personal challenge youâve faced since becoming a mom?:
âMotherhood challenge for me has taught me of being accepting and ok with the day , From being okay with my kids outfit choices to skipping makeup, eating a simple meal like chicken nuggets, or not getting to the pile of laundry, Iâve learned that sometimes itâs okay to let things be.â
What advice or encouragement would you like to share with other moms?:
âLean on prayer for guidance and strength. I pray for our children in every aspectâfriends, school, and their future families. Above all, prayers centered on the hope that our children will develop a deep love for Jesus, which will guide them throughout their lives.â
Meet our MOPS Registration & Finance Coordinator, Priscilla Phillips!

âGiving myself grace especially when I recognize that my children and I share some of the same struggles.â
What advice or encouragement would you like to share with other moms?:
âGod gave you the gift of mothering your children. Even when it doesn't feel like a gift, remember that He chose you for this. The incredible little humans that rely on you need you to value yourself. You are exactly the mom/wife/person they need. â¤ď¸â

What is the biggest personal challenge youâve faced since becoming a mom?:
âI am an âA-typeâ personality who has thrived in an office work environment. As a stay at home mom, I have had to learn to be ok with not seeing my day-to-day progress. It has been a difficult adjustment, but when I do see my kids learn something that we have been working on, it is a much bigger deal to me than filling in a spreadsheet!â
What advice or encouragement would you like to share with other moms?:

What is the biggest personal challenge youâve faced since becoming a mom?:
âHaving it all together all the time.â
What advice or encouragement would you like to share with other moms?:
âIf you want community, then make it! It wont come on its own. Be the mom that reaches out, schedules play dates, plans fun things for other moms and kids to join in on.â

We canât wait to see you!
A Polaroid is developed âin the moment,â You have no choice, but to accept the image that you get and delight in its pure authenticity. It forces you to Be Here Now.
this year, letâs practice what itâs like to be delighted in the moment. With a Polaroid, we only get that one chance to capture the image. In life, we only get one chance to delight, and live in each moment.
Will all our attempts at living in the moment produce delight or life altering views? No. Just like a Polaroid, we are going to get some duds. But also, just like a Polaroid, the more we practice, capturing the moment, the better we will get at snapping up some good ones!
Letâs practice slowing down and allowing ourselves to take in the small moments, we encounter each day. If youâve ever taken a Polaroid, while on the move, you know, there will be some interesting results, none of which will be the picture that you were trying to capture. Likewise, if we are rushing towards an end result, we will see the world through a rushed, blurred, and distorted lens.
If any of this resonates with you, consider joining us for our first MOPS meeting of the year, Thursday, September 7th from 9:15-11:15am. You can register through the link in our bio (IG) or FB page. If you missed our registration event, itâs not too late! We hope to see you there!
