Walla Walla’s Micro-Business Assistance Program started in 2018 with the goal of supporting Spanish-speakers, women, and low-income entrepreneurs in eastern Washington. Since its inception 5 years ago, the program has offered 73 entrepreneurs nearly $300,000 in grants and over 2,000 education hours to support the growth of local small businesses.

Beatriz and Everardo are a dynamic brother/sister duo who both graduated from the MBA Program in November of 2020! Beatriz specializes in residential cleaning, and Everardo DJs for family and community events. These inspiring siblings both chose to start their own businesses here in Walla Walla, and to enroll in MCNW's MBA Program just as COVID-19 was beginning to impact their businesses in March of 2020. Upon completing the program, they are both planning to continue taking their businesses onward and upward.

The Washington COVID-19 Immigrant Relief Fund opened applications TODAY for a new round of emergency assistance. These direct payments of $1,000 are for immigrants who have been impacted by the pandemic, but are not eligible for federal assistance or unemployment due to their immigration status.

Applications are first-come, first-serve, and close on May 15th.

When you arrive, please pull up to the side entrance on North Colville Street, where we will hand you a bag of pre-packaged face masks.

PPE will only be available while supplies last! Masks are the same as pictured below. MCNW Walla Walla will be distributing these masks and other PPE to our community partners (up to 20 masks per partner) and local businesses (up to 10 masks per business)—all completely FREE.

The Mercy Corps Northwest team in Walla Walla, Washington received an award from National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (National VOAD) on behalf of GoodNation to distribute Personal Protective Equipment to small business owners in the area.

For small business owners, the 800 masks, 25 bottles of hand sanitizer, and other equipment provided offered them support to keep running during the pandemic.

Jaime Castellanos, the owner of Casther Productions, collected his supply recently from our office. He shared that he will use the PPE when he is out taking pictures of his clients or meeting with them to finalize photography contracts. Jamie collected his supply here from our teammate Cinthya Montero, who you can be sure to meet when you visit our office.

A big thanks is due to NVOAD for providing us with the opportunity to distribute these essential supplies!
