A huge thank you to NorCal Poodle Rescue for pulling Cirrus and giving him the best possible chance at a great home! They were even kind enough to reimburse us for his neuter!
Happy tails handsome 🐾🥰
Little Junie was brought to the shelter in Elk Grove horribly matted and covered in foxtails. The shelter had to sedate her to help her. They shaved her down, then pulled dozens of foxtails out of her. Fourteen alone were in her ears! Many of the areas where the foxtails were pulled out were abscessed. After we got Junie, we took her to our vet and they removed more foxtails that had come to the surface and they gave her medication for the abscesses.
Junie is not doing very well in a kennel environment. She needs to be in a home environment while she is healing. Once she is healed, she will be ready for adoption. She is such a sweet girl, she won’t be available for long after she heals. Won’t you apply to be a foster for Junie? She will reward you with lots of kisses and love.

We need fosters in the Modesto, Stockton area. Our new kennel is in Modesto. Our foster program is usually short term, a few weeks. Some of the dogs just need a quieter environment than the kennel. Or, perhaps they are recovering from a medical procedure and need a little TLC. PLEASE SHARE

Matty is on vacay with his new family in Tahoe. Is he living the life or what? Stay cool Matty!
Adorable Andy went to his new home on Sunday. It was bittersweet for his surrendering owners, but age and recent health events made them know that they could not give him the best of everything they wanted for him. They got to participate in the adoption and saw that Andy will have a wonderful life, exactly what they wanted for him. One thing he loved with his owner was afternoon naps with Dad. The new family said "oh ya" we can make that happen!
Happy adoption day to Leo! It was love at first sight for Leo and new mom and grandma. Leo jumped right in the crate for the ride home. Congratulations to this new family!
Very cute, Poodle Club

It is the last living thing we can do for them. I have done it several times over the years and I was never sorry that they were looking into my eyes as they made their journey to the rainbow bridge.
"It turns out that pets also have last wills before they die, but only known to vets who put old and sick animals to sleep." Twitter user Jesse Dietrich asked a vet what the hardest part of his job was.
The specialist replied without hesitation that the hardest thing for him was seeing how old or sick animals look for their owners before they fall asleep. The fact is 90% of owners don't want to be in a room with a dying animal. People leave so they don't see their animals leave. But they don't realize it's in these last moments of life that their animal needs them the most.
Vets are asking owners to stay close to animals until the end. "It is inevitable that they die before you. Remember that you were the center of their lives. Maybe they were just a part of you. But they are also your family. Even if it's hard, don't give up on them.
Don't let them die in a room with a stranger in a place they don't like. It's very painful for vets to see how pets can't find their owner in the last minutes of their lives. They don't understand why their master left them. After all, they needed the consolation of their master.
Veterinarians do their best to make animals not so scared, but they are totally strangers to them. Don't be a coward because it's too painful for you. Think about the animal. Endure that pain for them. Be with them until the end.
