We are ending 2024 with a look towards the future. We sincerely believe that studying abroad in general, and particularly on our programs, creates opportunities for participants both on program and in their future lives and endeavors. Whether those opportunities are for personal growth, cultural learning, or future volunteering or employment, our programs open new doors for our participants. We frequently say that the program experience doesn’t end when the participant goes home, but that the post-program reflection is equally as important as the program itself. We hope that our participants take what they learn, continue to reflect, and carry their experiences with them as they enter into new chapters of their lives. As we wrap up our year’s reflection on the “Future we want” we are inspired by the ways in which our participants and alumni use what they learn to make positive change in their own communities, take on interesting and meaningful careers, advocate for change, and think critically about the world around them and their place in it.

One of the many impacts of studying abroad is the cultural awareness built through each shared experience. To wrap up this quarter's theme of "Promoting Mutual Understanding," we asked students for an initial belief they held about their host country's culture that changed after their program with Amideast.
