An incredible time was had at as we teamed up with . Well…It’s that time of the year again….

That dreadful period when the time changes and your infant/toddler’s sleep turns into total chaos😩.

If you’re like me and can be totally last minute or just flat out forgot Spring Forward was approaching…the tips below can help!

🔅Gradually shift your child’s bedtime routine by 30 minutes earlier for the next 2-4 days. P.S if your little sleeper is not very receptive to change..you may want to start the shift by 15 minutes instead.

🔅Keep their bedtime routine as consistent as possible.

🔅Keep their room dark during bedtime(or very dimly lit).

🔅If your child wakes up too early, keep the light off in their room for an hour after their usual wake up time.

🔅Enable sunlight exposure in the mornings upon waking.

To the Woman who :

is doing it all on her own

has given her situation/circumstance over to the Lord

cries herself to sleep at night

stayed up late because that baby just won’t sleep

Is feeling unappreciated daily

Is tracking through that pregnancy

Worked a crazy late night shift and still had to get the kids ready for school in the morning

Is sacrificing it all for her family, even when times are tough

Isn’t sure of who she is anymore

Lost sight of her worth

Wears the ‘super mommy’ cape even though she’s dreadfully afraid of what’s to come

Is doing everything that she can to support her partner and her family

You are noticed. You are Loved. You are Brave. You are Woman.

If I Had Only Known.......

Oh how we all wish we could avoid this saying.

After giving birth there are many bodily and hormonal unknowns yeah you may not be prepared for.

As a Doula, I ensure that my clients are prepared for their birth and postpartum to the best of their abilities.

Knowing that you are confident enough to combat the unknowns of postpartum- is a huge anxiety reliever.

So here we are….

😣You’ve just spent maybe an hour putting your little one to bed, only to have them wake up not even 30 minutes later.

✨Dear Mommas, your little sleeper needs to nap. However, it is a common sleep struggle for many.

If you’re wondering how to begin this journey, here are a few Pro-Tips to consider:

✅ Does your little one have a nap routine? Like bedtime, it’s important to implement a consistent nap schedule to the best of your ability.
Ofcourse, the daytime may throw unexpected occurrences your way and there should also be room for flexibility. However, your little one actually thrives on their bodies being able to learn and settle into a nap schedule.

✅How’s the sleep environment? Are you setting the tone for naptime?

✅There is such a thing as being too tired too sleep. And not responding to your baby’s sleep cues are a huge no!

🔆Does your little sleeper take “cat naps”?

Postpartum Depression and Baby Blues can be sensitive and emotionally frightening .

Research shows that one in 9 persons will experience postpartum depression after giving birth. While Baby Blues symptoms usually wear off after 2-14 days, postpartum depression is usually more severe and can last for up to a year. This illness is treatable and should never be suffered through in silence.

Proven Tips to Help you Get Through Postpartum Depression:

✨ALWAYS contact your doctor/therapist.
✨Do not do everything yourself, ask for help.
✨Try getting out the house and spending time with your partner,family or friends.
✨ Talk about your feelings with your partner, family, friends (supportive system).
✨Join a support group. Your medical/birth team should be able to provide you with recommendations.
✨ Avoid making huge life changes right after giving birth. Major life changes usually adds on unnecessary stress.

You should never feel ashamed about what you are experiencing. This is quite common and help is available.

You are not a failure to yourself. You are not a failure to your baby. You are not a failure to your family.

PEACE DURING PREGNANCY

I felt the need to add in sections of Mindfulness Teachings to my new pregnancy journal ‘My Pregnancy Haven|Guided Pregnancy Journal’

This for sure trickles tenfold throughout pregnancy.
Whilst pregnant, it is common to worry about your well-being , your child, your role as a parent, your finances, and the inevitable changes you may experience in your daily relationships.
There may also be situations when you feel like you’re doing so well and then someone comes in to throw you off balance.

✨Distance yourself from anything and anyone that brings you anxiety, pain, and frustration.
✨Start a gratitude journal and pay homage to the people or things that bring you love and light.
✨Breathe. Never Forget To Breathe. In through the nose, our through the mouth (like I always remind my clients)
✨Ensure that every player in this pregnancy is fully up to speed and involved in some way.
✨Invest in a childbirth education class. The last thing you need is to be unaware toward what’s happening in your body.
✨HIRE A DOULA. Strategize & Plan not only for your pregnancy but also for postpartum. You never realize the importance of this until you take it for granted.

There is no “by the book, specific way” that anyone should feel succumbed to dealing with their loss. However, at a time like this persons need proper support, care and love.

🔅Here are 3 ways to support a person who experienced pregnancy loss or stillbirth:

1. Make make her feel loved .
2.Listen to her, and validate her feelings.
3. Don't support her for a certain time...support must be ongoing.
